It's sick to think that there are so many dudes who can make the list.
Its nice to be a top 25 program year end and year out.

For me it’s X Thames. We had just lost our top two scorers after a disappointing year. We finished 9-7 in conference, got knocked out in the second round of the conference tourney, then bounced by Florida Gulf Coast in the national tournament. It seemed like we’d have no scorers and weren’t projected to do much. Then X takes a LeDee like skill leap out of nowhere and becomes a stone cold killer. We win the conference. Climb all the way from unranked to a 5th in the nation ranking. Eventually lose to #1 seed AZ in the sweet 16 after leading at the half and Thames leading all scorers with 25.

Off top of head x, Arop, Dakari Allen, ledee.
Skylar’s dad let my wife wear his championship rings so Skylar gets a mention.
Note it did not say best but favorite. 2 on my list were not starters, no one would mistake them for best.

I am shocked Al Faux isn’t getting more love! You guys who have been around the longest should be giving Al some love as well. He was the original outside bomber and didn’t miss. Just Dee Money and I showing him love. Still all good choices with everyone. Dude hit some big shots back in the day. I agree with the comments about Lo Wade and pre-USC Tony Bland since he hasn’t been called out as he was a good transfer and player for us More than 20 years but a great shooter, Kim Goetz (long ranger). Imagine him if there was a 3 point shot. I am confident he would hold the Aztec single season scoring record if there was a 3 point shot. He does not qualify on the 20 years (barely qualifies on 50years) and I was too young or not enough of an Aztec basketball fan to list him as a favorite, but I have long ranger as the original Aztec outside bomber and best Aztec outside shooter (I have seiko 2nd). Also was he the first Aztec basketball player drafted? He was a handful of years before Cage.

Your Favorite Aztec Player in the last 20 years?
Easy Answer for ME. Alexander "CHASE" Buchanan-Tapley! The Double Deuce. Awww...HE"S your FAVORITE because HE'S your kid?
Yeah, but also, because of the following All-Time Aztec Records HE currently holds:
2nd All Time in Winning Shares 4th All Time Leading Scorer in Aztecs History 4th All Time in FG's Made 4th All Time in 3PT FG's Made 4th All Time in Steals 4th All Time in Minutes Played
5th All Time in Efficiency (POINTS-REBOUNDS-ASSISTS) 5TH All Time in Games Started 6th All Time 3PT FG% 6th All Time in Victories 7th All Time in Games Played 7th All Time in Points-Rebounds in Assists 19th All Time in Shot Blocks (ONLY AZTEC GUARD in HISTORY)
FRESHMAN RECORDS
FG% 50.0 3PT FG% 37.6 Assists 9th Steals 9th Assists Avg. 10th
1st Aztec Player to Play in 4 consecutive NCAA Tournaments
The RECORD I love the MOST is WIN SHARES!! HE was a WINNER on every Basketball Level that HE Played.
He had a GREAT RUN as a San Diego State Aztec!! Not bad for young kid who suffered a severe broken leg during HIS Sophomore Year in High School and by the Grace of God made a great recovery!~
My Family and I are so PROUD of HIM and WE ARE AZTECS FOREVER!!
It's a SAD COMMENTARY on SDSU Athletics Administration and Coaching Staff the "Chase" is not a Member of the Aztecs Basketball Hall of Fame!!
Who knows though, HE has an 11 year old-Son, Cayden,(i.e. HE has perfected the Jumper, just like HIS DAD) that may follow in HIS Footsteps and become an Aztec in 7 years!!

Chase had a great career as noted above, I remember he was so clutch whenever the Aztecs needed a basket. I’ll throw one of my favorites Dwayne Polee into the conversation. His defense at the top of the zone against New Mexico was instrumental in that huge comeback to secure the conference championship. What a great memory, it seemed like he had 6-7 steals in the last minutes or the Aztecs don’t win. That was one of the loudest crowds in the most exciting and improbable comebacks I’ve seen.

KL, Josh Davis, Yanni, Tim Shelton, Randy Holcom, Michael Cage, (can't think of first name at this minute) Allen. Not necessarily in this order? Tim Shelton could take a charge like no player I've ever seen.

Tapley has always been one of my all-time favorite Aztecs, but I didn't even bother to respond to this thread because there are so many great options and my response would depend on how you define "favorite." There are some players I really loved (consider a favorite) but they didn't fill up the stat sheet or have the career they wanted. Some that come to mind are Tim Shelton, Dakari Allen, Trimaine Davis, etc.
