Well, the distance from Fallbrook to Carson (via Menefee to pick up Erik) is 108 miles. That's just over twice as far as from Fallbrook to Mission Valley. Ouch!

This season is already postponed and likely cancelled.. and if they do end up playing in the spring there almost certainly won't be fans, so that wouldn't matter and would be a major net benefit since we also wouldn't have to pay maintenance on the Q. Who even knows if we'll be allowed fans in fall 2021 too since we're in California Perhaps, maybe even probably you're right GFS...but isn't that an argument for choosing a cheaper venue? Yes which is why I "liked" another poster's post about playing at USD. I think that may turn out to have been a better option unless this thing gets dragged out 3 years or something and we would be allowed to fully attend down the road
But like another poster said, you'd need to make sure the stadium is equipped to handle a quality TV broadcast, which eliminates going the extremely cheap route

I'm cool with it. There is really no other viable option, and it should provide a way to expand the brand into LA. Other local stadium capacities: USD: 6,000. Cathedral: 5,000 Balboa: 3,000. TJ: 27,000, but that's not a realistic option with all the border craziness, a reluctance of many people (including me) to go to TJ especially at night, and it doesn't expand the brand. There is also Devore stadium in Chula Vista at around 7,500. Isn't parking at the Carson stadium like $50 per car?

Nice stadium. I've been there. Far from N. County, but not so far as Carson. AzWm

Too small, I guess.

If the State of California let's fans in the building. If they don't, Wicker earns the Dumbazz of the Year award for not renting a cheaper venue. Enjoy the games, social distancing will not be a problem. Not every facility is capable of supporting broadcasts. Likely the only options were Petco and Stubhub.

As a friend just said - I guess they gave up on the ONE CITY, ONE TEAM campaign? Perhaps it was to support USD, as SDSU leaves town. I’m cancelling. Refund please Wonderful. I’m buying season tickets for first time ever and thank you!

It's "eye on the prize", and the #1 goal of the Athletic dept is opening the Aztec Stadium doors in Sept, 2022. If the construction company is telling them to implode in early 2021 instead of early 2022 I can live with that, no problem. If USD or SW stadiums can't or won't work for next year, I can live with that as well.
My only disappointment is THIS SEASON, if it does happen. The MWC site has suggested they're exploring moving the season up, potentially to late October/early Nov. This announcement tells me that's not going to be the case. If it were, then why not at least play October & Nov in SDCCU if they're not imploding until after the new year? The biggest implication of this announcement to me is it hints of the MWC possibly being the only conference not playing in 2020, if they start at all.

LA alumni may choose to buy season tix, hardcores will still come up, and folks in Central CA may choose to go down. Hopefully they do some form of transportation for students and maybe do bus pickups and dropoffs from Aztec bars/restaurants. A lot of doom and gloom for a single season away from SD while the new stadium goes in. Perhaps ask why Petco balked instead of quitting on Aztec football.
Play some Bob Marley, gents. Every little thing is gonna be alright.

Sure the seats are benches, like at the Rose Bowl, but that campus is beautiful, and would look even better with a color change. I'll probably attend two games in Carson, but that's about all of LA I'd be able to stand in one year. The other games, I'll catch on the tube.

They've been rumored to be starting mid-November and there's even talk of playing with 8 teams, excluding the California schools. But we'll see. The NFL was able to get waivers to practice because they have daily testing, which the P12 also has access to now. They should be able to get the same, even if those states don't change policies. That still gives them 4 weeks before they'd need to start practicing. Personally, I think if you're not playing by the end of October it's stupid to even play at all.

I was looking forward to that one last tailgate. Likewise, me and dad (AzDick) were looking forward to one last Aztecarita blow out before the blow up of The Murph. As it turns out, the last ever Aztecarita Murph tailgate will have been vs. BYU last year - and hey, if you're gonna go out unsuspectingly, make it one prior to a win over The Cheaters

Actually glad some people are scared. I lived up the street from the stadium in 06-07 when it was scary. Stay here we have enough Gringos south. This decision is bad on every view- more crime in Carson and its 100 miles away- nothing to do, no train, stupid.
