I like how the door is left open for a return as DC. Brady wants him and hopefully Rocky will consider it. Almost sounded like they already have it planned out to go that way. |

Count me as one who ranks Rocky Long as one of the great SDSU coaches of all time. As well, count me as one who is very happy with his replacement. Check the calendar. It's the 8th of January; a little late to be looking for head coaches. We are very lucky to have Brady Hoke ready to take over.

1360 AM said they will interview with Hoke at 3, Wicker at 4 and Rocky at 5:30. So more should be known with good questions.

Rocky just said he told Wicker he was going to retire before the bowl game and took the holiday to make sure. So maybe this has nothing to do with the speculation of why (Horton, for instance). The speculation was just that. Rocky just made it pretty clear he wants to continue coaching, he just doesn't want the big chair anymore. He also said he wasn't leaving after a 7-6 season, so between the 10 win season, and Hoke being back onboard, it seems he knew now was the time to go out on his terms. I like how Rocky, ever the classy fellow, was thinking about the well-being of the program, even as he was thinking about leaving. What a man. |

Hoke was a great recruiter at Michigan while an assistant. He recruited Leon Hall from Vista. Both Hall and former Vista HC Dan Williams love him. I have faith that Hoke will bring in the players we need going forward. |

its been refuted in the paper that JD asked for staff changes, said Rocky came to him before bowl game and was considering retiring. the same people on here who expect alumnus to take pay cuts (rocky, KOC, Lindley) are the same ones who complain about there basketball season tickets going up 50 dollars. FWIW i believe Rocky will be coaching somewhere next year. also congrats to the head honcho of this board, hes wanted this since 2013. time will tell if the infact the grass is in fact greener
