Some in the conference worried when the Cougars left, but has it really missed them? If someone can confirm that BYU would significantly increase the value of the next set of TV contracts, then I'll change my mind. Until then, may we never have anything to do with them again.

A big yes. Adding BYU and the zags plus dropping a schools like SJSU and Wyoming would bring a lot more money to the table. In addition, the Old tv contract would have to be renagotiated. We could get rid of that dumb ass Boise special treatment crap. This would be huge.

Is there any chance SJSU and a Mountain school could be dropped ? SJSU unfortunately cannot get any fan support and is a perennial loser and we play too many games at altitude.

Unless BYU was bringing football as well I'd rather take the risk and invite Grand Canyon University (if they add 2 schools). They have good facilities, good market (Phoenix), and a solid fanbase. A lot of potential there, especially if they gain non-profit status. Stop buying pot in la Mesa. Grand Canyon is a joke. F them. Once thunder dan leaves, they will be more worthless than the yellow Spartans. BYU will bring all sports. Just explain why we would want byu in the conf for football? We have 12 teams. 13 is impossible. Moreover, their fans are a-holes not welcome in our venues. Nuff said.

No , there is no chance unless sjsu chooses to eliminate athletics . Think that's happening? When I read you guys talking about schools getting kicked out of the conf. I laugh. There is no such means of making that happen. This is not gin rummy. The member schools don't have authority to discard other members . Got it?

Member schools can do so. Read the MWC charter. They just rarely do

When was the last time a school was evicted from a conference? You've been gone from calif too long. No one dares to " offend" anyone else especially public unis.

Again, no special deals like Boise crawling back and screwing Aztecs. No special deals for the Zags, let them play in baby land WAC if they don't agree. And no BYU with grown mature men age 30 with grand children. Age limit for MWC at 23 and everyone is treated the same $$$$$. Tell me where I'm wrong. We are the big dogs.

The Sun Belt just kicked out NMSU and Idaho Football-only membership. Big difference. I'm sure there's something in the MW bylaws where a member COULD be given the boot. Most likely requires something like 3/4 vote and some serious violation though.

Have you seen San Josie 'compete' in sports? No one comes to their games. They have no TV ratings. They drag RPIs down. They suck money to which they should have no claim.
That's a serious violation. And they will never get any better.

If BYU were to come back with all sports then it would likely mean Hawaii would be the school dropped from the conference.

And they will never get any better. Yes I have. It's called Rivertucky. Although UCR did win at Cal this year... Unfortunately for both of us, poor facilities or performance in major sports isn't strong enough grounds for expulsion of a full member. Unless there were broken promises somewhere and in writing, it's not easy giving someone the heave ho

But to answer your question, Temple was kicked out of the Big East. NMSU and Idaho were kicked out of the Sun Belt. VMI was asked nicely to leave the SoCon......I could go on. Just admit it when you are wrong. There is honor in that.

New mexico state would be a plus for men's hoops considering they made numerous NCAA tournaments. They are the top rival for the university of new mexico.
