byu should also pay a "tithe" of 10% of their revenues to each of the other teams in the MWC conference.
And formally, publicly forfeit all of the prior games with the Aztecs where they cheated to win. Admit their guilt. With Chad Bunn being bitch-slapped daily.

Typically I find when Zeigler digs in this much on a story he has a solid source. I'm guessing he was told that it's almost a done deal unless the WCC pulls off a miracle but he just had to connect the dots on his own.

I really like his assessment of bringing GU into the fold and leaving BYU to twist in the wind until they beg to join the MWC. That it perfect. |

bottom line money - what Conference will give Zags higher % of MM money . Zags Women also in the Women MM. Could MW also do the same for other schools .
Are Zags using this as leverage deal
Another Q - Zags road games if in MW would they get a % of sales ? Would MW go to 22 conference games so all MW schools get to have them as home game boost attendance ?
Trips to schools in Mountain Division of MW - get to be costly - compared to most WCC schools that have more direct flights .
Take it this would be for all non football sports ?

Precedent is that they don't have play CFB and BB to belong because MWC took Hawaii for CFB only a few years back. My personal preference would be not having then in CFB because it would mean unbalanced with 13 teams (as of now anyway) and because I don't want their a-hole fans in MV present or future. You?

I suggest that no special deal, ala BSU, be made. It will create nothing but bad will. Now if the conference wants to change the tournament distribution for everyone, fine. Let each school keep a significant percentage of the money they earn before distribution to the league. It works for SDSU too. |

Has anyone read that byu would also join for football . I have not and assume not as their sch. Is surely mostly set for years out . Schedule is not bad except for 2021... Pretty simple, no BYU unless they bring football back. |

could be general rule for all teams that get to MM - a school gets X % of the MM money . Would also be interested to see what happens with regular season TV deals for MW and WCC ?
Game of what conference is willing to give the highest % MONEY
Would also prefer that MW add AAC Conference Challenge over Mizzu Valley if there is any challenge at all
How many games for the regular MW Conference schedule ? Has been more difficult to schedule quality OOC games

we don't need or want BYU. We've already got 12 football teams and adding Gonzaga makes us have 12 bball teams. Its perfect.

Unless BYU was bringing football as well I'd rather take the risk and invite Grand Canyon University (if they add 2 schools). They have good facilities, good market (Phoenix), and a solid fanbase. A lot of potential there, especially if they gain non-profit status.

I hated how manufactured the broadcast was when we played them last year -- like a giant infomercial. I only want "real universities" in the conference, not some giant online factory that also happens to have a campus. The WCC can have them. |

It's ok to dislike and not want BYU, but the MWC does need and want BYU, maybe SDSU doesn't... BYU would be the biggest game on the MWC Mountain schedule for everyone in that Division, no doubt... some will say BSU, but all of those schools have a serious history with BYU and want to play them at home every other year... If you are Wyoming and you get BYU at home this year and BSU at home next year then that starts out your home schedule pretty nicely. Additionally, BYU as part of a home-home in basketball is way better than most of those mountain schools can schedule... Finally, BYU would be the biggest brand and carry the most weight in TV contract negotiations, by far... However, as I noted "all sports" would have to come back... PS... If the presidents had to vote to bring back BYU and that also meant that they would have to vote out USU they would do it in a second... |
