I may be in the minority, but I'd like to sign both. F*ck saving a scholly for transfers. Complete agreement. He obviously has us as his to choice. Nathan may not even choose us as he would have already. Take the kid that wants to be an Aztec. He visited UVA (ACC) today and was ours to lose. I'd rather have an aggressive freshman at 6'9 who attacks the rim versus a transfer who is under valued and has to sit a year. Mason, mom and family were very happy with his visit and then we put him on ice. I disagree with the save one scholarship, this time. When Nathan Mensah hasn't committed yet.

We could end up "saving a scholarship for a transfer" and end up with two schollies open. I'd rather we get immediately eligible players than roll the dice on a player who couldn't get on the court elsewhere and would sit for year before getting his shot.

Mom stirring the pot. Aztec fans come out in droves! I say take Forbes and wait on Mensah until he is ready.

It's not about saving a scholly for a transfer, it's about saving one for a wing. It makes no sense to take 3 bigs that are all extremely out of position playing the 3

IMO we need a post player rather than another wing. Look at how Kentucky, Kansas and UNC recruit. More bigs less shorties.

Most teams have a ratio of 9/3, 8/4, 9/4 with some flexible players & we're no different. A lot depends on whether McD morphs more into a 4 or a 3. If he's better suited at the 3, then we may need another 4/5 to go with Narain, Mensah & Mensah (hopefully) down the road. If he's more 4, then definitely lean towards saving room for a wing. Bottom line, you can get a transfer G/W or F, so ultimately it comes down to talent. IMO I'd rather have Allen because he's a better player than Forbes in my book, but if we're confident we won't have turnover opening up another spot I love having the freedom/space of a transfer at ANY position. Player movement is going up, and with transfers you can gauge how well their talent transfers to the college level better since they've been there. Forbes to me is Plan B after Mensah (or by chance another higher tier kid like BPJ, etc.); Allen's a Plan A; and saving a scholarship is Plan A as well.

Bigs are limited in what positions they can guard, wings are not. I'd gladly take 8 wings of our 13 scholarship players. We need a couple bigs, but overloading on bigs is a terrible idea. Also the need isn't for a post player, it's for a good big that can rim protect more than anything. The need is for 1 more wing and 1 more big. 2 more bigs is a poor use of scholarships

coaches should have a good impression about what McD can do or play what positions. They also had Mason here for a visit and comparison .

Wow a really Super picture that has nothing to do with sdsu or basketball. Wait, it's a riddle .... oh I love riddles. You're trying to say that because his sister chose Cal ... and this guy is a prof at Cal ... he's going to Cal. Or the chubby short dude "black don't crack" is a new PG recruit??? Or you're trying to say you want a recruiting section on this board all to yourself. Only you and Stan can post there and we'll name the thread "captain obvious & moments of life you'll never get back". Riddle solved

So anonymously if you want to be a dick to make you feel good about yourself, so be it. Mr. "Onions" do you speak to coaches, parents and scouts? If you do please let me know? I sincerely don't think so, so don't be a dick. Plus I can't tell you what where we are in the process of signing a prospect, but we are in a holding process and perhaps looking for plan B.

I wouldn't be surprised if Forbes commits to UVA. His Oakland Soldier PG Kihei Clark committed today, after he got out of his UC Davis verbal. They work the pick and roll like magic.

It's my understanding Forbes doesn't have an actual offer from UVA and is a plan B recruit for them, just like here.
