The Aztecs had recruited him last year and there is a relationship. Assuming he's not a grad transfer, then he's planning to sit out a year to play a year wherever he goes. If he's ahead on credits (seems unlikely since he came the juco route), maybe he's got a shot to graduate this summer and play somewhere next year. He averaged just 10 minutes per game last year, typically logging 8 or fewer minutes. No surprise he might want to leave, regardless of whether McCoy is heading there. More future minutes on the SDSU roster for a guy like this than at Oregon. Would we really want a guy clogging up 2 years of a scholarship when he's only going to play 1 of those years though? I'd guess SDSU will be standing in the line, with many other schools, for that privilege. Even in his pure "clog" year he'd help the team prepare for opposing bigs as a practice squad guy. |

On one hand he got to make the final 4...on the other hand, he isn't happy and is transferring and has to sit out a year. I'm guessing he wished he came to SDSU or one of the other schools from that standpoint. |

Oregon could be in a little bit of a rebuilding mode next year - with Dorsey, Brooks, and Bell leaving early, and with Bigby-Williams and Casey Benson transferring, they don't have a lot of bodies left. They do have 5 star Troy Brown and two 4 star freshmen arriving next year, but they're not a lock to even make the NCAA tournament next season.

Been hearing that KBW actually wanted to redshirt last year to develop a bit, but Cage had a concussion in the preseason so he got the redshirt instead. KBW wanted to redshirt next year or transfer.

Great point about K B-W . Sits next year then plays 1 the year after or lower division school ? . McCoy , wonder now if he sits back and takes a closer look at what he wants .? Every one has a different interpretation ? He could go in any direction depending on what is most important to him ? Total Jump Ball ? From some AAU guys. But it was just a rumor that was out there. You are probably right, he likely ends up staying. |
