He came up with a huge block in the McDonald's all star game to avoid a tie, and to win the game.

Working on narrowing things down among Arizona, Michigan State, Oregon, San Diego State and UNLV.
San Diego State: "It's the hometown school. My family's there and no one has to move. Coach (Steve) Fisher is a Hall of Fame coach as well. I love his history with the Fab Five and they made it to the Sweet 16 a couple years back so maybe I could go in and help them do it again"

UNLV, with its' better players now transferring out, does not offer a very good possibility of participating in March Madness next year. A one and done like McCoy probably wants to have a chance at the Big Dance.

TV schedule for MW teams hurts both SDSU and UNLV . Also the way the MW has done in OOC and MM . Believe UNLV had some additional guys say they were transferring out the other day . All things add up when making a decision . Believe the way McCoy's HS team performed this year - not that great - could also mean that he wants to be on a team that has support around him - especially a proven PG that runs the offense and uses the 5 position . . There were recruits from the Ducks and MSU playing in the game . Plus the guys from Kentucky , Duke , plus up coming Mizzu and Alabama .
McCoy did make a very good block near the end of the game . But announcers mostly talked about the offense. East had the 5's that made some spectacular plays on offense . McCoy was second string behind Anton but was there at the end of the game . Local HS guy Hands, PG going to UCLA looked very good .

Believe he will play in the Jordan Brand All star game mid April in NY ?

Oregon will lose Chris Boucher (Sr.), Jordan Bell (Jr), Dillon Brooks (Jr) and Tyler Dorsey (Soph) to the NBA. And perhaps even Dylan Ennis (Sr.) The three underclassman will open up 3 more spots.
This leaves only (4) front court players in Eugene: Paul White (Sr) Kavell Bigby-Williams (Sr) Roman Sorkin (Sr) MJ Cage (RS Fr.) I imagine that McCoy will end up in Green/Yellow.

Believe he is scheduled to play end of next week in the Jordan Classic ? Along with some other top recruits . Would wonder if he would also wait to hear what other current college guys are going to head off for NBA ?

I will be very surprised if this kid picks SDSU...our recruitment has been below average or non existent in the last 2-3 years..they have not shown the salesmen skills to attract this kind of talent

from the article sounds as if he may wait until the end of April ( after numerous guys decide about attending NBA evaluation sessions and after Jordan Classic ).Or could he "Leaf" it , having additional at home visits before making the final decision .
Were there any articles about how the All star game was here in San Diego ?

NO WAY. ASTUTE ANALYSIS, wow... can't believe no one else is thinking that. And yea it's definitely because our recruitment has been below average and non existent, gosh darn it, all we need is "salesmen (sic) skills"!

Fisher retiring doesn't hurt. He'll be lingering around like Freider still does with Fisher.

McCoy isn't coming to SDSU for the coaching or the facilities...he'll be here because he wants the opportunity to play a lot of minutes in front of family and friends each home game...that is the ONLY reason he is considering the Aztecs...and he has said so himself.
I'm not saying that this isn't a good reason...nor that the Aztecs don't have other things to offer him...
The retirement of Coach Fisher does nothing to change the young man's motivation to join the Aztecs
