So I guess the big question here is...who's going to replace him?

Curious to see what he'll be getting paid by Mizzoo.

Absolutely not. We can find another AD that makes poor processed in house hires. Not hard.

Big loss. With success though, these things happen. The next AD needs to carry the torch.

Absolutely not. We can find another AD that makes poor processed in house hires. Not hard. And what about the relationships he's cultivated, with very big names in college football? What about the infrastructure improvements he's made the past seven years? His job is much bigger than coaching hires, and I'm afraid his shoes may be too big to fill.

Correct. When you do very well at one school other schools definitely want your services. We should all be totally thankful that he stayed here as long as he did, and helped our program tremendously! Now, the process begins for us to find a really good AD from some other school, and make him an offer.

I have posted many times how important the next FB head coaching hire will be. Okay, I'm sticking with that position. But right now we have another challenge, the AD position being crucial to the success of the SDSU athletic program.
We'll see if the administration is up to the task. I would think that lots of really strong candidates will be interested. It's a matter of picking the best.
(Does anyone think that the hire will come from in-house? Frankly, I hope not.)

I'm bummed to see Sterk go. He was the best we ever had. Next guy will have huge challenge ahead of him. What does this do to our Big 12 chances? Probably last nail.

Another reason we have to find our way into a P5 conference.

He moved SDSU forward. That's all one can ask. At least he won't have to work with a shoestring budget anymore - that should be liberating.
But he's not exactly going into a rose garden, either.
