Per Sterk , SDSU is going forward to BE, have been in constant contact with BSU. But if for some reason BSU would go back to the MW , Aztecs do not see that in their future. He was asked if he was trying to talk to the BYU AD about joining the BE. Comment ,they have been asked. This morning the radio announcer that does the BYU games was asked about BYU being an Independent for football. One of his comments, it is very difficult to schedule games in November , most teams are in the middle or stretch drive for their confernce play. Not easy to get good teams to play you, unless you do a one home and two or three at their place.

I'm sure most MW schools have been contacted. Really? You really think Colorado State, Wyoming, Hawaii, New Mexico and Nevada have been contacted? This is moving down the path most of us thought it would. A national all sports conference split into east/west that is comprised of the most valuable schools remaining from the Big East, MWC, and C USA. Those who make the cut this round will give themselves a shot at one of the super conferences during the next round of expansion. ..Sent from my GS3.. Don't know if Hawaii was contacted or did the contacting, but...I did post a few weeks back that one of our Associate AD's (whom posts on the Hawaii board incognito), said Hawaii needs to bust butt to get into the BE. ...but...there were "other" MWC schools ahead of us whom want into the BE.

Call me a skeptic or a cynic, but there's no way UNLV or the Fres ever come back. I'll believe it when I see it.

His articles are all well reasoned but I'm not sure where deduction stops and sources begin, if any, but have to imagine a guy announcing for 30 some years and commited to writing has amassed some sources inside UCF, let us also remember UCF said school S out west would be next

So in other words, you really don't want us adding UC San Diego or the University of Denver while you're here.

Yesterday: the beat of sports @thebeatofsports
While Catholic 7 think about who to invite, Mike Aresco has no shortage of schools interested in his western plan...several contacting him
Today: the beat of sports @thebeatofsports
Stand by our earlier reports that Aresco talks with western schools is not just football only. MWC would not allow non-fb members
the beat of sports @thebeatofsports
Aresco's west plan isn't just fb but to add bb schools to strengthen league. Targets UNLV, BYU, N. Mexico do that along w/SDSU,in for fb now

and mwc is trying to negoiciate with cbs about their contract Successful negotiations for the MWC: MWC: Can you give us more money? CBS: No. MWC: Can you give us our third-tier rights so we can sell games to your competitors? CBS: No. MWC: Then can you promise not to pick up that option for 2019, so we can go out on the open market in three years? CBS: No. MWC: Well, can I have that pen? CBS: ... what? MWC: The one on your desk. With the CBS logo on it. CBS: Um ... I guess? MWC: YESSSSSSS! It's more like this... MWC: Can you give us more money? CBS: No. MWC: Do you want to lose Boise, San Diego, Fresno and UNLV? CBS: No. MWC: Would you rather undermine NBC by keeping SDSU, Boise, Fresno and UNLV -- and by getting BYU back -- and by going after a couple of Big East schools? CBS: Yes. MWC: Okay, then bend over. CBS: Yes master. Okay so that's an exaggeration but you have got to know that both conferences are seeking television contract offers that include not only the current configurations but also prospective membership combinations based on a raid of the other conference. I don't expect the MWC to win this junior bidding war unless, maybe, BYU is willing to join the MWC but is not will join the Big East. But you've got to know that they are trying. Yoda out... .

There's a reason why Sterk was so cool when things weren't looking so good for the BE. He knew who was standing at the door to replace whomever was leaving.

Also dumbshit fans of St. Johns, Louisville and Cincinnati, none of which will even be in the BE two years from now. Gotta say, though, that it's somehow comforting that the percentage of mindless dolts is just as high on the BE board as it is on the MWC board. Well, almost as high. Yup. My new favorite thread is the guy trying to cook the books against the Big Yeast in tv demos using census numbers, giving whole states to conferences, threatening to take others away if the rabble doesn't simmer down etc. That is one of the funnier threads I've read in years --- you quiet down with those facts or I'm taking away San Diego and DFW tv sets! He's the same fuktard who's been trying to argue basketball is more valuable because the NCAA tournament TV contract is more than the BCS Bowl TV contract...

I started this thread on the Realignment Board 6 months ago. I highlighted why Fresno, UNLV, and Hawaii were excellent choices for the BE. Lotta "haters" back then. csnbbs.com/showthread.php?tid=578766If roomers are accurate, Boise and SDSU will still be joining only for football initially. The BE bigshots are going to be UConn and Cincinnati going forward and it's apparent they're very opposed to creating an all-sports West. Fine, we'll agree to continue to go for football only right now, but we'll demand the creation of an all-sports West once those two schools leave. The rest of the newbies simply need the two of us too badly not to agree with that. And when they do, I'd just as soon add Hawaii. I won't bother with all the reasons the Warriors would be a good add but on the whole, Hawaii is an improvement over UNM, CSU, Nevada or any of the other members of the nMWC. Make the western division this: Boise BYU UNM UNLV Fresno SDSU Hawaii Leave SJSU and all the small town members of the nMWC to have their own 12-member conference (with UTEP and Tulsa) composed of members located in metro areas which collectively have considerably less population than just us seven. Leave worthless Tulane behind and this would be the eastern division: Temple ECU Houston SMU Memphis UCF USF

The WAC would take UNLV and Fresno in a heartbeat if all else failed, even if it was only for a year or two until a new all-sports conference formed. At this juncture, isn't it true that they can't leave the MWC until 2014 anyway? Both of these are very good points...wow, an actually discussion on this board.

This type of thing wouldn't happen until 14 anyway - next year will likely include the catholic 7 and the acc and big 10 bound schools, 12 team fooball with a title game with previously announced schedules. 14, everyone moves on.

I think UNR, New Mexico, & Hawaii probably have, or at the very least the schools have contacted Aresco to send out feelers regarding the direction of the league. Everyone is trying to keep from being blindsided by the next move. The schools that are screwed are Wyo & CSU. Don't really see what they bring to any conference. Wyo might as well start sewing the Big Sky patches on their jerseys right now.

They decided then to remain separate but after they are raped by the BE, such a merger will be much more likely.
