My point was, UNR is just as deserving to make that strange move to the BE as well. But with all the uncertainties going on with the BE, not sure they would accept an invite. UNR should compete for conference championships playing football in the MWC, and their basketball program just put themselves in a better position as well. I just hope SDSU didn't jump to early with this whole BE mess. I guess we will find out when the real TV money is on the table and a contract is signed. Until then, it's just speculation. No, UNR is not just as deserving. For that matter your OP to this thread might have passed the sniff test in 2008. There are times when it's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than... I'm curious what your response will be why SDSU is so deserving over any other div 1 school including UNR? Tell me it's because SDSU finished back to back regular seasons 4th in conference and won their first bowl game in 37 years. Tell me it's its because their huge conference championship win in 1986. Tell me it's because there are so many people outside San Diego wanting to watch Aztec football. Tell me it's because their loyal fan base packs 20K for home games. SDSU fans are bandwagoners. There are plenty on this board. I however am not. I want what's best for the Aztecs. This BE move has failure written all over it. Again, any school is as deserving as SDSU. Only a fool would argue otherwise. Now there is the BW debate for basketball. I don't like it!! However, I am not going over to the BW board and talking $#!+ like some of the turds in here are. The Aztecs have been very successful of late and the fans have been great. A lot of National attention has come with the recent success. Let's not lose the respect by bashing everyone else. It wasn't that long ago COX was 3/4 empty. The little BW doesn't need SDSU. This foolish BE move is why it's happening in the first place. Oh, not to get off topic, but check out the UNR's basketball program over the last 10 years or so. I guess they don't deserve to be in the BW with SDSU either. BTW- I have been to Peterson Gym, the Sports Arena and Cox. Does anyone in here actually ask themselves why SDSU was invited to the BE?? Ill tell you why. It's because the BE is desperate. Quit acting Like SDSU is better than everyone else. The fact is they are not. I hope it works out for SDSU in the long run.

Alum...it is about 'eyeballs' in a specific geographic marketplace also known as a 'media market' and that is the 'why' it is the Aztecs and not Reno.
BE is making a 'play' at gaining a foothold in one of the largest 'untapped' media markets still available which is as much a business decision as it is a where have the Aztecs been in the past as to their game day record. The plus to the BE is that the Aztecs are now winning games and with being in this large media market that which is San Diego makes a simple 2 + 2 = 4.
Sorry, but no other member of the MWC fits that profile as those within C-USA that fit the profile have already been brought nto the BE.
Keep up the homerism for Reno as it falls on deaf ears for most psoters here.

We also averaged 39k for home games last year smart guy. They DO need us or they wouldn't be bending over at almost every turn to make us happy. And? Have you been to Qualcomm or the sports deck? Have you taken the time to ask yourself why we were invited over all of those other schools? Given your uninformed opinion here, you clearly haven't... No you don't.

They averaged 19k a game with the greatest team in the history of their program. The don't even belong in the conversation. SDSU fans' arrogance shows up again!! OK really? Like SDSU football sells out the Murph? Take away the sky show and you're about 8-10K above Nevada's average. Yep, that Rutgers-SDSU is sure to sell out the Murph!! And before any of you start, it has and will always be the Murph to me.

I get it!! and I get Reno. I'm just going after the bandwagon idiots on this board.

Not sure that the UNR fan base or TV market is any worse than SDSU's. A lot of kids from Sacramento are attending UNR. It's only a 1 1/2 hour drive. There are a lot of people in Sac Town and Reno combined. You can't tell me that out side of San Diego there are people jonesin' for SDSU football Sorry, but I really, really disagree. In 2010, UNR went 12-1 during the regular season, including being the only team in the country to defeat Boise, and had exciting third round pick Colin Kaepernick at QB yet failed to put an average of more than 22K butts in the seats per home game. With a season like that, we would average close to 50 grand.

UNR's average attendance in 2011: 15,775
UNR's average attendance in 2011 minus the UNLV game: 13,735
% of UNR's average attendance of SDSU's average attendance for all home games = ~40%
% of UNR's average attendance of SDSU's average attendance minus the highest attended game for each = ~37%
% chances that the Big East considers such things in offering membership = 100%

you'd have a point if every other school in college football didn't do the same thing. Exactly moron!! So why do you bash every other school in college football? And don't f-ing tell me It's because SDSU is better than every other school in football. You seem to make that argument very clear.
