It reminds me of a junior high playground.
Where would our Oly sports be without them? HI is coming in, Boise, State. Long Beach, Santa Barbara are beyond decent. This can be a good league. I'm glad to be in the conference, otherwise we are stuck in the MWC, and no Big East.

Where would our Oly sports be without them? Probably in the same situation Idaho is. Only difference between the two sides is you were willing to go to a conference that wanted you

They can always go here: www.canadawest.org/index.aspx?path=football&Of course, they'll have to take some seats out of the Kibbie & Bits Quonset Hut in order to widen the field.

The Big West is still basically a bus league. We added Hawai'i and it was still a bus league. Add in Boise, it is still a bus league. Nine of the eleven members are in California. Of those nine, Davis is the only one that might call for a flight.
But, as far as facilities, the Big West is an arena league. It's not a gym league any more. Only four members have (what you could fairly consider to be) gyms. So, seven out of eleven have arenas. And then, there's the possibility that UCR will have an arena soon. If that happens, that would make eight out of eleven.
Sorry for raining on your little smack parade.

The first since 1985. And although our baseball team needs to get it together, our softball, volleyball and swimming/diving teams are awesome.

TJ Simers (L.A. Times columnist) was my influence on that one. I got the idea from him. He used to call former Dodger owner Frank McCourt, "The Parking Lot Attendant."
smack talking ain't one of my strengths, unfortunately. I usually just stick to witty replies and facts (and being a good sport about things)

I know there are much better writers around and I do like reading other columnists from around the country, but ya gotta admit Simers has a way with people.

This puts my beloved thunderdome in that category. After finally making it back to a game last year it definitely feels like a gym compared to viejas.
