No doubt about it---UNLV is going to be VERY tough this season and deserves all the hype they'll get. It should be another strong season for the MWC.
AZTEC UP!!!

Nice get for the Rebels. I expect us and UNLV to be in the top 10 for most of the season if UNLV can actually live up to expectations and that is a big if for them. And if Bennett can qualify, heard that wasn't a sure thing.

Great get for the rebels. Should make for another set of great battles between SDSU and UNLV.

Their team will be stacked. We will see if it's enough to over come their poor coaching.

Nice get for the Rebels. I expect us and UNLV to be in the top 10 for most of the season if UNLV can actually live up to expectations and that is a big if for them. And if Bennett can qualify, heard that wasn't a sure thing. I know SDSU only uses the numbers as to benefit them. UNLV is not allowed to talk about the past or that UNLV has a winning record against SDSU. It used to be 9 of the last 10 against UNLV now it's 9 of the last 11. Seems like using the past to me. You continue to use your numbers as dominating in the past 6 years. But in those same 6 years UNLV has more wins in the NCAA tourney and since the past is past I guess according to how SDSU looks at things. The last game was a UNLV win so I guess we are dominating SDSU. Please at anytime remind me of a win over a national program that you have had or a McDonald's all American you landed let alone two. I know you will throw the old conference championship in my face. I understand that is a big thing for you guys. UNLV judges it's success by how they fare in the NCAA tourney. Remeber we came from a conference that you are going to and won it every year. It was something that was expected and a given. We are more accustomed to playing national programs and basing our season success based on how we do in the NCAA's. While no UNLV fan is happy with how the past seasons have faded. I think we will give the current coach whom we have had one season to coach his two McDonald's All Americans along with three top 100 kids he recruited.

No need come to the Aztec board and talk smack. SDSU has elevated their program and has been very good under Fisher. Both teams will be preseason top 15 (at least) next year. Both fan bases have the opportunity to eat crow from things they say to each other about next years match up. It should be a great race as your last year in the MWC. Despite all the smack talk back and forth you guys provide a nice rivalry and it's sad to see your team leave. Both teams are leaving the rest of the MWC in the dust as far as talent level(hopefully Rice and translate the talent into a MW championship one day) so the future would be bright between the two teams if the rivalry were to remain in tact. Good luck next year and heres to hoping both teams make some serious noise on the national level next year.

Hello aztecmesa, Just stopping by, clearly UNLV has a great class and so does SDSU, but sadly my lobos do not have the stellar star rankings that both these teams have, but hopefully our recruits pan out. Anyway I still believe you guys are the favorite for the MWC and I think the battle will be between UNM and SDSU, because I believe Rose is not a very good coach and he showed last year that they had a lot of talent but he wasted it. UNM and SDSU have almost equal backcourts and both coaches are excellent. Little off topic but what are the chances of Pelle qualifying? Later aztecmesa.

Thanks for being a expert on judging a coach after his first season. I guess after Coach K had a losing season his first season they should of fired him. Lastly his name is Dave RICE.

The Dave Rose part eliminated the validity of his opinion. Lobos would try to mention their name up there. Only way UNM can compete with the top 2 is if Drew Gordon gets a face transplant with Alex Kirk...even then I'm not so sure. Both UNLV and SDSU are going to be light years better. Aztecs with much better depth than last year and UNLV with an insane new starting lineup.

Great get for the rebs. Bennett, Birch, Jones, Moser AND Marshall in the same lineup??? Yikes! That's some stiff competition to say the least. Should be a two horse race between UNLV and SDSU. Far more talent(at least on paper) on both these squads than their MWC rivals. However, with that said, I'd have to say UNLV(at least on paper with the recent addition of Bennett) look's like the team to beat at this point. Should be a very exciting race in our final season in the MWC. A conference, btw, I'm going to be sad to be leaving.

Lobos are still going to have a very good team, despite the loss of Gordon. The rest of their key players will have one more year of experience. However, talent and depth wise, they're definitely a step behind UNLV and SDSU - maybe two steps. It's gonna be a great race next year. I'm not ready to declare Rice a poor coach yet, but I do know Fish is a helluva coach.

It will undoubtedly be an epic, epic season next year for both of us...and you have to admit that once Rice and Hudson headed to UNLV, the excitement in that city for the team and even the respectability around the nation for UNLV seems to be elevated quite a bit. Not at all close to saying that Rice is a bad coach. Hell...Fish's first couple seasons were PRETTTYY rough.
With that said...Cant wait to shut down the Rebs next year!
