It's time. WTF?!?
The much ballyhooed generational talent has yet to be unleashed over several months now. K'd looking tonight with two on and one out. At least try to make contact. SMFH
Is anyone in there? He sure isn't making much of a case for a huge contract.
If anything, he's battling Nola for worst offensive average on the starting nine (with apologies to Trent Grisham and H.S. Kim who are also circling the drain that home plate has become for this club).
Can't imagine what's going on in his head right now. Has he ever faced such a protracted slump in his career? From the time he was traded to SD, he's been a shadow of what he was billed as coming in.
Maybe Washington knew something about Juan Soto that the rest of MLB didn't? Gotta wonder. To let someone like him go, it couldn't all have been about the money.

He's been a disappointment so far, although I really do feel that when the season is all said and done, we'll all be saying he had at least a good year, if not a great one.

Soto is becoming a major disappointment, especially for the $$$$ he is making this season. He can start proving me wrong any day now.

That ticking I hear must be the sound of one of those Top 3 tapping out… or time that’s running out… maybe both.

I just hope his low right now gets matched by a high - and soon. His performance since the trade from D.C. is not good. Hader had a tough start too, but he's gotten untracked. Soto just hasn't ever clicked. Gotta wonder if the 'book' has him by the cojones right now.
Whatever he's doing to adjust, it ain't working. His Ks the last few games were not particularly competitive.

For as bad of a start that Soto's had, his slash is still looking better than Manny's .214/.250/.286

For as bad of a start that Soto's had, his slash is still looking better than Manny's .214/.250/.286 They both look terrible at the plate right now; at least Manny carries his own weight in the field. Soto is beginning to look like Hosmer, Part II. … same feeling when he comes to the plate or when he has a ball hit to him as I had watching Hos. And right on cue he hits into an inning ending DP. Melvin won't sit him, and Soto really isn't "working his way out of it". Sure it's no less frustrating for him, but at some point, he needs to take a day or two off - just to reset, or heal up. I wonder how much that spring training oblique injury might still be nagging at him, too. It's been a month, but those kinds of injuries take their own time to get better. And swinging for the fences every day hardly gives things any chance to mend.

Melvin absolutely will sit him, Soto has been adamant that he wants to work through it and he's earned the benefit of the doubt based on his previous performance. He's been absolutely fine in the outfield, too.

OK, it seems obvious now that the Padres never got the REAL Juan Soto from Washington!

Soto thinks he's still in Mexico City, D.F.
Smokes the pitch for two RBI. Whatever it takes, just keep it up.
Next at bat, he gets smoked on a long out by Boegarts after he rounds second base.
Not a smart base running play … SMFH

Another boneheaded base running play by Soto. No excuses for some of his base running nonsense. WTF - it cost Boegarts a hit.

How about a 3-run double to make up for a bit of the above?
