Snell possibly trying to reduce the chances of some other team selling the farm for him next week - he's really not sharp today (in comparison to his last 8-9 starts). Velo's OK, location's off. He's clearly not happy with the movement, either. Despite that, he's had good luck in that only one run's come across. Still a very winnable game …
… if the Padres can just figure out how to score a run or two.

Nothing that happens today, barring injury, will affect anything in terms of his potential return at the deadline. Just doesn't have the fastball command. Hopefully the offense eventually steps up.

I have the same reaction watching the Padres attempt to hit.

IF Snell is moved, I don't think the Padres will get much of a haul for him, as the team trading for him will just have his services for a few months, unless they want to sign him to a new contract next year.
Maybe a multi-team deal?

Maybe a multi-team deal? Should easily fetch a top 100 prospect type as the clear #1 starter available.

Ok. We got the 2-3 from Toronto, and now off to Detroit for a sweep.

No. I don't believe their deadline plans should or will be altered by the results of beating Pittsburgh and Detroit. 2024 is a thing.

So, if the Padres close the gap on the Wild Card by a few games, before the end of the month and get to 500, you think they should mail it in?

So...then I am guessing you have written off this season. Have you written off the season? Just curious. For a team that hasn't won more than 3 in a row all season, I don't see them being able to do enough to squeak in to the last playoff spot. So, I guess the answer is yes. I'm also going to reduce my season ticket package next year to a 20 game plan, if available.

They haven't really done much this year, to give us hope. I'm, personally, taking it series by series and seeing if they can creep back into this. If they unload some important players, then I'm obviously out under those circumstances, as well.

No. Hold on to the prospects and build for 2024? Yes. Do you think they should give up Snell, for example, if they have a reasonable chance at the wild card, before the deadline?
