In the article about OU's in-house fighting, there's specific mention of stadium size and seating capabilities, with 45k being a small number! I've always been in favor of a 40k - 45k seat stadium, so that was a bummer to read. Stadium size has very little to do with it. When we build our new 40,000 seat stadium it will be a perfect size. I'm sure a design that will accommodate an expansion to 50,000 seats if needed will be included. Regardless TCU and Baylor both have 45,000 seat stadiums (Baylor even downsized with their new stadium). The bigger factor is TV market; read $$$. SDSU has that and more. Good market, academics, facilities, recruiting grounds, destination city etc. We have a bigger market in San Diego than almost every BIG XII school.

SDSU should package themselves with UNLV.

I too think SDSU has a chance at Big 12 expansion based upon the fact that the Big East would have taken us had it not collapsed and we backed out. Presumably, they ran a similar monetary analysis that the Big 12 is doing and hopefully the Big 12 comes to the same conclusion the Big East did.

It would be better for SDSU if the Big 12 fell apart and UT, OU and OSU left and the rest of the teams had to find new homes or create a new conference.

Here's a "from the sublime to the ridiculous". Given the current discussions in the B-12, P-12 concerning tv revenues or lack thereof, What would happen if the tv powers that be decide To put together a conference consisting of the Best six teams from both conferences? This also Assumes the Big -12 is able to tell Texas to go to..... Yeah, I know it's the silly season but money Can make for strange bedfellows.

If the B12 does nothing this summer each school still gets 22- 25 again from its TV deal this year . Want easy money for all P5 teams-( plus less headaches)- and even G5 teams, work on expanding the playoffs to 8 teams.

If UNLV gets that NFL stadium built on or near their campus and gets their Medical School up and running it will have the same effect for the Rebels as "SDSU WEST" will have for the Aztecs. We would be a natural fit as a pair to go to a better conference. Time will tell if that is a P5 (PAC 12 or BIG XII) or a BOR. SDSU will definitely be in a better conference in the future. Go SDSU WEST! Go AZTECS!

It won't be a P5 conference for SDSU but it will be a BOR and will be a significant conference upgrade from the current MWC. The BIG XII is destined to break apart or be raided. Texas and the LHN is THE problem that will lead to that conferences demise. Go SDSU WEST! Go AZTECS!

B12 can do the basic travel buddy expansion , add Cincy and ? Or do something bold head toward CA or Florida to be a national conference . TV markets is the way to add money . Also the place to add better recruits .

Baylor, while downsizing, also has plans for a future expansion to 55,000 if needed, and I would imagine TCU could do something similar.

CBS Sports is reporting that Oklahoma regents are unhappy with Pres David Boren being a chief supporter of expansion. If he's forced to switch his vote, I bet Big 12 remains as is. They're getting plenty of money already and they did make the playoff last year.
If the Big 12 stands pat, really think we need to buddy up with UNLV and/or Boise and see if the AAC will expand.

All the things I have read, listened to & people I have talked to put max capacity at 40,000. It might even be 35,000-38,000. Certainly nothing is in stone but IMO something like what Colorado State is building would be perfect with a design that easily allows for expansion to 50,000 seats if needed would be perfect. Stanford & Oregon are a good model for us to follow as well. Go SDSU WEST! Go AZTECS!

At this point in time Boise is not going to leave their fiefdom. When SDSU West is secured & UNLV finalizes plans for the NFL stadium & their Medical School I hope we do approach the AAC about that possibility. We need to take care of our house (SDSU WEST) first & see what the BIG XII is going to do.

Big XII not impressed with our 2016 FB schedule of New Hampshire, Cal, No Illi and So Bama, then the MWC schedule that didn't include Boise St. We have 8 games on TV 6 on CBSN, one on ESPN2 and one more TBD on the ESPN networks, which could mean cable. We should I go 11-1 this season, maybe 10-2 if Fresneck beats us in beef country.

The MWC is the MWC; get used to it; we will likely be here for a while.
