6'10 Malik Ondigo visits by Rutgers, Seton Hall and St Bonnies. Ondigo moved from the West to the East for Prep school. Averaged 24 points and 13 rebounds his senior season at El Mirage Dysart, PHX area before he transferred to prep school in Conn. Many more BB opportunities in the East then the West for a 6'11 Center. Our Aztec staff watched him over the summer while he played for the PHX Power Factory AAU club.

I don't know if you've noticed, but I think that Stan wants some high school bigs to visit San Diego State University.

we have a couple of scholarships and the need is a guy that can play the 5 to replace Valentine . So if we can get a quality 5 to come visit , why not ? We have not had much success getting guys right out of HS to come here and play .

Sometimes I think it would be better to not even try for the top 60 types...to just focus and devote our attention to the 60-100 ranked players that we are pretty successful in getting. The problem is that when we have a blue chipper in our own back yard, we've been thinking we have a chance. Just being linked to the Cage's, Leaf's, Ayton's, McCoy's, and Norris' of the recruiting world has to make it back to the solid recruits that we realistically can get.

I am hopeful that a big year will help us land recruits in 2018 and beyond.

The 6'10 Center Malik Ondigo now at Putnam Academy - Prep school in CT, with many high mid and high major prospects. He may come off the bench with this squad.

Here are 10 big guys that we should offer in 2017: So Cal/Nevada/TexasCody Riley Billy Preston Jalen Hill Ira Lee Oshae Brissett Isiah 'Isaiah' Jasey PJ Washington Local SD DeAndre Ayton Brandon McCoy Richard Polanco This one is for you Stan. DeAndre Ayton to Zona, Jalen Hill to UCLA and Ira Lee down to three. If he selects Oregon it puts another PF ahead for MJ Cage.

twobits, other then McCoy who is a local long shot . Most of the guys we recruit who play the 5 are rated 50-200 , and we still have a very difficult time signing them . Did get Nolan (as he is moving from the 4 to the 5 and could have rated higher but came out of HS early) and Jalen , very slender frame, who wants to play the 4 .
Bad situations last year signing a HS guy . did get Valentine as grad transfer late . For 2017 have PG,SG, SF but need a 4 or 5

A physical 6"7' player who knows the game can thrieve at the 5 in college. USA Today Sports story on Battey. All I see if positive press and high rankings from ESPN, Scout, USA Today. Some one out there thinks he has value. USAT Sports“Coaches haven’t blown up my phone, but the coaches who are hitting me up, they’ve been recruiting me for a bit,” Battey said. “I haven’t had any new offers since I’ve been here, just people congratulating on my success here.” He said he has offers from Cal-State Fullerton, LMU (Loyola Marymount), San Diego, James Madison, Utah State, San Jose State, Fresno State and Nevada. Schools that are interested include Boise State, Clemson, Colorado, Oregon and Arizona State. usatodayhss.com/2016/villa-park-high-school-villa-park-ca-evan-battey-nba-top-100-campColordao picks up 4-star, ESPN Top 100 Evan Batty today. In total that gives the Buffs (3) 4-star front court players: Evan Batty 6'7 290 PF, Tyler Bey 6'8 205 PF and D'Shawn Schwartz 6'7 215 ESPN #79. ESPN ranked Batty #9 in California and Bey at #19. Batty is from Villa Park HS in Orange County. In addition they also get Namon Wright a 4-star transfer SG from Mizzou. 2017 will be a good year in Boulder. www.buffzone.com/ci_30409430

On tape he plays like a mix of Charles Barkley and Wes Unseld, don't think we recruited Batty at all, but scouts ranked him high after the AAU summer season.
With three 4-star + Namon Wright, the Buffs are looking good. Yes, they have guys who play the 5 and the 4 in this class and had strong 4s and 5s in the last class.

say what you want but recruiting a guy that plays the 5 or even the 4 right out of H is difficult for us . We did get Nolan and Jalen last year . and Skylar about 4 /5 years . But is not easy for the Aztecs .

Big pick up for Zona, Ira Lee commits to U of A. is this good news or bad news for the Aztecs with Taeshon Cherry and Miles Norris? Both of whom went to the Red/Blue weekend with Ira Lee last weekend.
