we could be evaluating him this month to see if the coaches wish to extend offer or visit ? Not allowed to say anything other then extend an offer ? He would seem to fit the athletic guy to play the 5.? Just saw this on TexasHoops, 2017 Offers - had no idea the list of schools after Samuel. Nothing from SDSU. Kevin Samuel- Auburn, Arkansas, Boise State, DePaul, Fresno State, Houston, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech, Oklahoma State, Prairie View A&M, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Tulane, UCLA, USC, Virginia Tech Signed at TCU, heavily recruited big man.

ESPN 4-star C 6'9 260 signed at BYU. He is from Idaho ranked #19 in the Western States and recruited by MWC schools. Big loss for Boise St and Utah St and the MW conference. Check out the Kobe Lee Twitter feed., not to be confused with Kolby Lee. twitter.com/kobeatl?lang=en

Stan, your obsession with "bigs" and visits is showing.

We lose Valentine and possibly Malik , some guess Z ?. Front line could get wiped out ? Have added a PG , SG and SF . So to me the need is a guy or two that can play 4 or 5 positions or both ?

Or....we could only lose Valentine & have Narain & McD with a year of experience going into 2018! I wouldn't expect much to happen for another month at the earliest. Many recruits, especially the higher tier, have yet to set any visits, and that applies across the country. Here's a quote which sums up a lot of what appears to be going on when it comes to recruiting. It's very possible recruiting won't really heat up until next February/March: “I think it’s pretty clear that the recruiting processes as a whole with this class are not that developed,” said Scout.com’s Evan Daniels. “A lot of these guys really have a ways to go, and they aren’t really diving into the process all that much. If you think about it, not a ton of guys are even taking visits. “It’ll be interesting to me to see if this is something where guys are just waiting until after the summer, and then they’ll make fall decisions, or if a lot of guys wait until the spring. It wouldn’t shock me if that’s what happens.”

He presents two different things and then says it wouldn't shock him if that is what happens. That is like "he may sign with the Aztecs or not, it wouldn't shock me if that's what happens".

only 1 of the top 10 have made a verbal . 4 between # 11 and 25 about 27 % . . 13 in the group from 51 to 75 about 52 % . But many of the guys do take visits in the fall . We will need guys up front and that usually starts with visits . We do have Tyler Bey due in by the end of October unless he commits to Colorado or ASU . Hope we can get others to come in for a visit

McCoy seems to want one of the very big name schools . So would concur it being a long shot getting him . Not sure if we have even gotten a visit scheduled for either of the other two , so that does not look good . We have a difficult time getting guys that want to play the 5 to come here . Do have Jalen who prefers the 4 position . The JC guys ?

yes but Valentine will be gone after this year . Malik very likely also. Nolan is still a question at the 5 , he played the 4 in HS . Max was a 3 at IU , outside shooter . Jalen is very thin and wants to play the 4 . Zylan maybe ? So if we have 2 scholarships ( or 3 if Malik is gone ) then try to see if we can get a quality 5 - not that easy ? 2018 yes we have guys we hope to sign but not that easy , the better they get the more offers come their way . Not easy out recruiting the PAC schools . Do agree quality is more important then just signing any guy .

Batty with offers from Purdue and DePaul Local Southern Cal player & ESPN Top 100 Center/PF 6'7 280 Evan Batty plays at Villa Park in the OC, continues to get D-1 Attention, plays a Charles Barkely still game. Quicker than you think and can shoot from the outside. Not sure if you are following Evan Batty, but at 6'7 290 with quickness and an oustide shot, even CU is after him after landing both 2 4-star Forwards Schwartz and Bey. Batty is an ESPN top 100 player, also a 4-star kid.
