So do we have a more current list of guys that want to play the 5. No one is saying they have to be a 7 ft . Gundo lets see your current list for 2017 or maybe by July 31 as evaluations come to a close and the coaches try to line up visits ?

Gundo lets see your current list for 2017 or maybe by July 31 as evaluations come to a close and the coaches try to line up visits ? So for 2017 we're looking at McCoy/Ayton (neither going to happen), 6'10 Malik (Stretch) Ondigo & 6'10 Bourama Sidibe at the 5 and perhaps 7'0 Leonard Allen Jr out of SDCC. In 2018 6'10 Nate Mensah from Prolific Prep who is gaining huge attention with great upside.

Warren Washington would also be a 2018 recruit There's a 4/5 for the Las Vegas Prospects named Kwame (K.J.) Hymes, he stands 6'9 and 205. Nevada just offered him today. Highly sought after 4-star Rivals player in the western states.

we could be evaluating him this month to see if the coaches wish to extend offer or visit ? Not allowed to say anything other then extend an offer ? He would seem to fit the athletic guy to play the 5.?

6'10 Malik Ondigo class of 2017 getting alot of attention this week in the west; offers from Wash St, Nevada, Texas Tech, Colo, Utah ST. K-State. (No Aztec offer.) Scout.com Break Out Performers www.scout.com/college/basketball/recruiting/story/1687395-second-evaluation-period-breakout-performersWe know that Coach Fisher watched him play this last weekend. No official offer from SDSU, however, Stretch is making a name for himself this summer. "Ondigo reclassified from 2016 to 2017 and has taken a major step forward as a prospect. He's got work to do on defense but his size and length give him hope there. Offensively, he's using post moves and finishing in ways he hasn't before. He still is a project but the way his stock is moving is giving high major programs belief in him. Recruiting: Ondigo holds offers from Colorado, Kansas State, Nevada, Purdue and Texas Tech, amongst others."

We have 10 scholarships accounted for 2017 . So 3 remaining - maybe only 2 if we hold 1 back for transfer .
Maybe a guy that plays the 5 and one that plays the 4 ? For 2017 we have Nolan , Zylan , Jalen Max ?

On a side note we offered 6'10 195 Nathan Mensah today, class of 2018. He attends Prolific Prep in Napa, had a break out summer season in AAU ball.

Yes, everyone knows Pope may leave, but for now there's two open scholies for 2017.

I have a dream.. If we won it all March Madness, would that be more exciting than the Chargers reaching the super bowl in 94 or whenever? Guess it depends on whether you like NFL or College Hoops better, and if almost winning the Super bowl trumps a Huge March Madness Finals Victory. Pun intended!

Ayton is down to three schools Zona, Kentucky & Kansas. There are other discussions that he will not go to college and head to the D League or Europe. He has been to 3 high schools in the past 3 years. This from a Kentuck BB blog. www.aseaofblue.com/2016/7/11/12152644/deandre-ayton-cuts-list-with-kentucky-wildcats-on-it"Calipari has to determine how likely it is that Ayton is eligible to play college basketball if he chooses to, or if he'll be another Terrance Ferguson/Emmanuel Mudiay/Brandon Jennings type of player, who signs with a school, but ends up leaving them at the altar." /photo/1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

Correct if Malik stays for his senior year , we would have 11 on scholarship . would also speculate that if McCoy stays in top 10 are chances of him signing with SDSU start to diminish .
So getting a guy that wants to play the 5 could be Ondigo or Sidibe or ...... A guy that plays the 4 Bey or Brisset (sp) .. All 4 are quality guys and there will battles to sign them , Evaluations continue this weekend and then next weekend . Do the coaches find additional guys ? Then see who they can line up for visits ?
