Zabo was a very high character team guy here , who could have trashed SDSU to Narain but spoke very highly of SDSU . Remember he was recruited to be our PG , our first recruit for 2014, came all the way across the country to attend SDSU, then the staff switched Kell to SG . IMO definitely put Zabo in a very touch situation . It also messed up Kell as a scorer , never got to being the scorer we needed , and our PG play was below average. There is little doubt that he chose JC to be able to play ASAP. Any thoughts about him having academic problems: is not called for , why even suggest it ? then you add, wish him the best . He's supposedly a very good student. Doubt it's academics.
The reason Kell went to PG was because Zabo wasn't as good as him and the coaching staff wants the best players on the court. They didn't put Zabo in a "tough situation"; the fact he wasn't ready to play regularly did. We recruit players, not positions.

Why? He had a list of some decent schools. JC avoids having to sit out an entire year. I liked Zabo... and think he'll have some even better schools wanting his services after a year at JC. Yes makes sense. Odd that he ended up at one in Iowa. I wonder what the connection was.

can we get him back after his JC stint? I was wondering the same. I don't see why not.

Believe Zabo had a connection with the JUCO coach in Iowa . Believe it is a JC that is known for its up tempo basketball , so if he does well , he can have his choice of schools that really has PT to offer him . Would guess he will get back his confidence and become a good D1 player for the 2016 season .

I'm not trying to start "roomers"...but do you think that his departure and subsequent JC enrollment had something to do with academics?...I truly wish KZ all the best... Thought the same but we had not heard of such a situation.......hope it is because it will give him a full year playing time to work on his game and then go to a Div 1 program where I still wish him success. Good luck Kevin!

Get some facts before you start a rumor mill . Zabo attended both summer sessions last year . Also attended both semesters of school and was in very good standings academically . Makes sense for him to go to basketball oriented JC , as many guys do so he can play full time and then chose D1 program that he prefers for 2 years . Better opportunity to do it that way . The guy has talent and should do well in a system that wants a PG that can play in an up tempo style .
