What's this about Allen being undecided? At this point, nothing more than conjecture by Stan. It was mentioned in the UT that he is undecided about coming back as well.

After the season was over both DW and Kevin Zabo said they were coming back . Then there was spring break and a discussion with the family . Zabo decided it was best for him to try another school . I did not say anything more then what was reported by Zeigler in the UT . D.Allen was looking at his options , it is easier to transfer after your second year then , you sit one then play 2 - take up three years on a scholarship , then it is to transfer after your third year , sit one and play one year . Zeigler 's next article nit not mention . Allen's current thoughts about if he is going to stay or transfer , so sure sounds as if he is undecided as there is no comment either way . As we know these are college guys that can change their minds or have a tough time deciding . I had hoped Zabo would have stayed , think he deserved more PT , Also think D.Allen deserved more PT . But the only one who decides that is the coach .

Never impressed by his signing. Think we pulled the trigger too early on him. His prep school record was not impressive. He will do well at a lower level D1 school. Good luck

From reading the article in the Union Trib it sounds like he wanted to return. The sudden change is very likely due to family pressure.
He'll have a great career. He'll be missed here.

As I said the only real opinion that matters for PT is the coach . but IMO D.Allen could have gotten more time as a defender and guy that takes it to the basket . Believe he could have helped numerous times against quality guards ,plus add spark , when he tales it to the basket . Zabo PT at PG . He had troubles busting screens on D (as did all) but could do a lot on offense. But as PT time dropped he became #12 on an 8 team rotation . IMO he could have helped but the coaches wanted AQ ,and Kell and theirs is the only opinion that counts. or with the numbers the way they were possibly red shirt Zabo. Very publically noted that our PG play this year was very average at best . IMO neither AQ , or Kell were solid at that position . Kell should have shared time with Polee and Shrigley at SG/ , his natural position ( guess Fisher thinks he is JJ -style at PG ) his scoring stats dipped as the season went on , hope he is at SG for 2016 . That could be a solid source for scoring in 2015. So I agree AQ , Shrigley and Kell could have had less minutes. AQ was more SG then PG , same with Kell , and Shrigley is very streaky . I think both and Zabo deserved more PT. In reality if the plan is for JH to be the PG then it could be best for Zabo to go where he can show his skills . So if the coaches see Kell as a PG , with JH , DW , then 4 PG's was not going to work and Zabo is gone . Same thing happens here as in many places , when you are able to recruit 12 to 13 quality players ,it is very difficult to keep them all happy . PT . So some move on . in this case it was Zabo .

hmmm, the most improvident takes place between your Freshman and Sophomore years. Sorry to see him leave, but if it wasn't going to work better now than later.

Aerick Sanders and the X man made their biggest improvements between their junior and senior seasons. I believe that there is no hard and fast rule on when such a leap may occur; some players never do.

The difference could have been LH's playing great at the state championships. Perhaps KZ understood how talented JH is. Thanks for all the initials.....now if I only knew who you were talking about. KZ = Kevin Zabo JH = Jeremy Hensley (I believe it is spelled properly)

Not sure if anyone else pointed this out already, but there was one portion of the comments from Zabo's dad in Zeigler's article that struck me as interesting:
“We respect the decision,” Zeph said. “It’s going to be good for both parties. They need a point guard who is experienced. The message was pretty clear that Kevin was not the point guard they wanted. It’s good for San Diego State because they can find the point guard they want."
I'm not sure if Fish and Mr. Zabo spoke, but it sounds like to me this is hinting at us pursuing a 5th year transfer PG. We're all assuming Hemsley is the guy, but maybe Hemsley is a solid backup to a senior transfer his freshman year. If this means someone like Dylan Ennis, I'm all for it. Or, it could just be Mr. Zabo's own thoughts/comments/assumptions.

Good find. It does sound like we are looking for a quality PG transfer.

It is unfortunate that a former HS player is rewarded with a Scholarship to get an education and participate in basketball, football, baseball, track, golf, swimming and etc. at a high profile University, then he/or she is placed in a position to leave the same and go elsewhere to play.
For the first season of many for Fisher, he was faced with a guard core that was not "ball dominant" and could not make the shots when needed or defend. In Fisher's offensive system, any player, except for the 5 man, can initiate his offense and/or advance the ball up the Court.
However, I believe Fisher's offensive system thrives when there is a "ball dominant" player on the floor who can score/make shots, and the other four (4) players are just as talented, but are comfortable in their roles and defers to said player. This season, Fisher's team/players moved the ball and/or made an effort to make the extra pass, make the correct play and etc., but team could not execute.
Next season will be different because with the exception of Shepard, Spencer and Shrigley, a new Aztec ERA begins!! New players with unknown skill sets, personalities and etc. will embark onto the MESA!
And, with all the chatter on this Board, it appears that Malik has become the POPE after a few College games! And, if "JH" can live up to the hype, how will The Shepard, The Pope, Shrigs and Sky King handle the same? Will the aforementioned VET players allow a Freshman to be the TEAMS's leader?
And, I believe that Fisher will start JH just like he made Trey Kell a starter. Don't be surprised to see JH at one guard spot, Trey K at the other guard spot, The Shepard and The Pope on the wings and Sky King in the middle. Suffice to say, JH will and/or the Pope will "dominate the ball" next season for the Aztecs.

Speaking of transfer out of SDSU, how many made something of themselves at another school? Didn't Steve Sir do well at a Big Sky school, especially as a 3-pt shooter?
