A sad day for many of us fans. But, if he thinks it is the best thing for him I wish him enormous success.

I was excited to see how he progressed next season, but I guess the writing was on the wall. His opportunity is probably best elsewhere.

Best of luck to him. And before someone asks no this will have no effect on narain just because both are Canadian.

Zabo definitely has division one skills which is more than I can say for several previous Aztecs who've transferred out. Wish him the best of luck. Really shows how far our program has come when talented players like him cant get on the court.

Not a big surprise, it's a crowded picture at guard and he wasn't getting a chance to contribute.
Best of luck to him.

I know we all think Hemsley is the next man up at PG, and I'm fully on board for that, but kind of bummed we're not going to get to see Zabo develop because I think he really had the skill set to be successful here. To be honest, I'm kind of surprised it's Zabo transferring and not DW, I think Zabo would have seen more playing time than D'Erryl next year.

3 thoughts:
1. Rather see D'erryl go since he's not shown much in 2 years. Zabo had more talent. Between the 2, Zabo has more ability to be a starter so he must've felt he had options elsewhere. 2. Hemsley must be crazy good that Zabo was let go. 3. Opens up a valuable scholarship for front court player
Much luck to Zabo. Agreed that we have come a long way to be able to lose someone like Zabo

I liked him too and felt that when he was on the floor early in the season, he looked pretty comfortable out there for a true freshman. I know the knock on him was supposedly defense but he seemed to be able to create his own shot which is something not many on the team could do. He had a couple good games in Hawaii but after that he played a little out of control. I think he would have calmed down with more playing time. I loved his size and drive. Even though DW is a much better on ball defender, I wish Zabo was here instead.

We'll probably never know the real reason behind his decision. Fisher talked to his dad as well so something must have materialized in the discussion. I thought he showed well when he played and I was looking forward to his improvement as a soph. He was tight with the other three heralded frosh so this is surprising. I wonder if he was having academic issues.

Best of luck to the kid for sure. Seems very classy. Bottom line is that if we are to start going deeper in the tourney, we need shooting. We have to start hitting 3's and FTs. Crucial stuff. We obviously need to upgrade the PG position for next year. It is the most critical position on the floor. This should open up another opportunity for the right type of player we need.

Agreed that we have come a long way to be able to lose someone like Zabo I think it speaks more to the kind of person Coach Fisher is rather than how good J. Hemsley will be. While building a program, Coach Fish has routinely shown he cares about his student/athletes.

A bit of a surprise but I wish the kid well and hope he finds a place where he can play and be happy. Its a hard adjustment and being so far from home that may have played a part in his decision. I do hope that both DW and DA stay. I think both can find some court time here. JH, they PG position is pretty much being handed to you, don't let us down.

Sad to see Zabo transfer. He seemed like that true PG we need with confidence to score but just needed to let things slow down. Probably what hurt him most was not playing PG his senior year. Hope he lands at a good school.
Worried about Allen. It would hurt the team but be best for his career if he redshirted. Great defender, can get to the basket and draw the foul but needs a jump shot and a few pounds.
