When, if ever, has Fisher brought onto the team a "problem" player?

FYI This was on Twitter a couple of weeks ago. I saw some one asking about Zano recently. Hofstra, Utah Valley, George Washington, Rice, Northeastern, James Madison & Boston U are involved with San Diego State transfer Kevin Zabo. 6:42 PM - 22 Jun 2015 A lot of good schools for academics. Utah Valley is an odd one.

Zabo will make a difference wherever he goes.

Perhaps, but it is rare for Fisher. He does have great insights to young men. There was a time when coach had to take chances on talented players with questionable pasts. There is no way to gaurantee the players we recruit now have great character, but taking players with shady track records seems to be a thing of the past.

I'm not trying to start "roomers"...but do you think that his departure and subsequent JC enrollment had something to do with academics?...I truly wish KZ all the best...

Since he didn't have much PT last year this gets him back on the court, gives teams a chance to see him and watch him develop, and will still have 3 for 2 wherever he goes. Becoming more and more common these days.

BTW, I think he chose JC to get PT so he didn't have to sit (red shirt) while studying. He is leaving SD to go to JC in Iowa. Wow. Life choices.

Zabo got very little PT here after the OOC . So by going to a JC can play right away this fall and regain his confidence , then have 2 years remaining to play at D 1 level . Wish him the best .

I think its a good move for him... a lot of guys bounce back to Indian Hills and then land themselves at some very good programs. Its a JUCO Powerhouse. If he does well, he will land in a very good situation I believe.

Malcolm Thomas did pretty well for himself after playing JC for a year post-Pepperdine. Didn't work out as well for Tyrone Shelley going straight to SDSU as a redshirt, but I know there were other mitigating factors involved for both. Just saying the JC route is sometimes for the best.

Zabo was a very high character team guy here , who could have trashed SDSU to Narain but spoke very highly of SDSU . Remember he was recruited to be our PG , our first recruit for 2014, came all the way across the country to attend SDSU, then the staff switched Kell to SG . IMO definitely put Zabo in a very touch situation . It also messed up Kell as a scorer , never got to being the scorer we needed , and our PG play was below average.
There is little doubt that he chose JC to be able to play ASAP.
Any thoughts about him having academic problems: is not called for , why even suggest it ? then you add, wish him the best .
