Aztecs coaches have offered Aaron a scholarship , as have USC . So it is his decision . He is required to red shirt at a D1 school . Would guess ,he is back home going through offers to decide the best fit , unless he gets an even better offer . If he does decide early enough he could enroll in summer school/ so he can participate in the school he selects ,summer program ( not sure if USC is doing a summer program out of the country / pays to have money). Or he takes the time deciding and makes sure he registers in time for fall .
For Narain , coaches have told him it is his choice and they will do whatever works best for him . he has also said if he does come in for 2015 he may red shirt so no rush there , other then trying to do whatever we can do to make sure , he does Sign for 2015 or 2016 . Believe he is participating in AAU or Canadian team activities during the summer .
So it could be a quick or long decision for either or both . Both guys are worth the wait .

Personally would love to see him be successful under Steve Fisher and crew compared to his former coach and what that coach said about him (can't imagine Fisher saying those things and the way he said them). Would show other kids what a great coach Steve is and if you are willing to work hard, you can be successful. So can the team.

Bottom line variety of issues for Aaron to figure where he sees the best fit for him , and his future . He has a while to make that decision .

Love him or hate him...Pitino is still one of the most talented coaches in America in terms of recruiting and X's & O's...if he benches a kid for attitude and poor practice...it's gotta make me wonder if the kids turns out to be the second coming of someone like Evan Burns (a great amount of talent but just couldn't keep it together between the ears). All the high school drama surrounding him only adds fuel to the fire... I'm certain that the Aztec coaches wouldn't be wasting their time with a "lost cause" so there must be something there (besides a great jump shot)... When a player comes to SDSU...it's more like joining a family than simply joining a team...I just hope that the chemistry continues... That was my concern as well. Pitino didn't pull any punches at all. Naturally I defer to Coach and the staff in this, just found it curious that one of the leading coaches in America basically called this kid lazy, not in shape at all and basically didn't care enough to do anything about it. At the same time though, getting rated as highly as he was in HS has to account for something, you don't get rated that highly by all three scouting services by being lazy.Actually, you can. At the HS level a player is more likely to excel WITHOUT work based solely on raw ability, much more so than at the college level where the gap between average, good & great is smaller than in HS. Some of the laziest players were ranked 4 or even 5 stars - Josh Smith & Jeremy Tyler ring a bell? I've never seen a lazier #1 ranked player than Tyler on the court. Many are so coddled early that they don't feel they need to work (the book Play their hearts out is a great read on the impact of coddling star players).
Not saying that happened with Aaron or will, but the rudest awakening many kids have is realizing that they can't skate on their talents alone any more, and actually have to hit the weight room or be pushed around on the court.
On a related topic, Pitino is a legend not just because he "wins" but because he wins BIG, and has for a long time. National championships talk. He also relates very well to players, and gets a lot out of them. At least when compared to 100's of other coaches out there. When he says a kid needs a makeover he means it. Sometimes the only way that happens is via change. It's possible Aaron simply just missed the West coast; it's possible the light finally did go on for him (as Pitino alluded to) late in the season. Maybe he just needed a reality check. Let's not forget the only reason he's not at Louisville is Pitino recruited a 5th year transfer and, given that & the fact he'd lost favor with Pitino, he didn't see PT coming his way. That may have been his wake up call.
I'm sure the coaches heard what they needed to hear, and I'm sure they talked to someone on Pitino's staff as well. I'll bet we hear something before the initial summer session, but you never know.

Here's one way to look at Shaq's potential skill level, he was a #30 Rivals ranked player. #29 Devin Booker is turning pro as is the classes top #1-10. He would be in the top 5 highest ranked SDSU recruits: Evan Burns, Malik Pope, Winston Shepard to name a few.
I don't think we would turn that talent away, FISH has always highly supportive of his players, from the Fab Five to the 2015 Aztecs. Look at how he cared for DP during his illness and even though Jamaal drove him crazy, he never said a bad word about him or any player.

Believe Pitino had an affair back in 2001 at a restaurant . Was extorted and paid the woman for an abortion . Coach Pitino has bounced through 3 or 4 schools . So not completely clean. But he wins and now has led a better life.
Also thought there were issues with Winston's car deal loan , plus pot , having to sit out games for both situations . Believe another player was involved in a stolen TV . Athletes or others get things messed up .
Aaron was only one of 4 or 5 guys even willing to come visit SDSU , even spent a few days, this off season, others did not even bother to give us the time, as they got better offers else where .
Can we get behind this guy , and show we are a family , or is it only when you prove yourself, think he does deserve the opportunity, we need him more then he needs us . But then watch as some shred him for picking USC . Hope he still thinks we are the place for him .

And no, we don't need him more than he needs us, were a program that has turned down high level transfers before and probably will again. But, let's not say there aren't concerns that need to be questioned about Aaron. Those questions will be asked wherever he decides to visit not just SDSU.

No player is bigger than the program, so we definitely do NOT need him more than he needs us and I definitely hope that's not HIS belief. If it is, then that's what got him in trouble at Louisville to begin with.

Aaron never said that or gave that impression . It is my opinion that we need more talented players going forward in 2016 to get to a SW16 level . We are going to lose a lot after the 2015-16 season . Malik, Winston, Skylar , Angelo . We hope to have Narain , Zylan, JH as quality players but really need a few more quality guys , including a high level scoring SF , Bailey was a hope but that seems as a long shot , Can we get Cage PF to sign ? or quality SG . Getting a top 30 player is not easy so Aaron could be that answer . USC or others would take Aaron as quickly as he says so , he has multiple options .

Did Mr. Aaron actually PLAY @ Taft? NO! That's because CIF Officials ruled Shaqquan Aaron ineligible on the transfer, he did not play his entire sophomore season.

The only reason I want Shaqquan Aaron to attend SDSU is to make our team BETTER. I think the kid is a PLAYER. I can only imagine a year of practice and the weight room and Justin Hutson's rather loud voice in the vicinity of his ear for a year and what those things will do for his game. I'm sure Fish and Co let him know his next stop will most likely be his last stop if he wants to see his dream(NBA) come true. I hope the kid makes the right choice, which is of course, The Aztec Nation!

Is it possible he could just wait until Narain decides to be 2015 or not? When is the deadline for Narain to make that decision?

My unsubstantiated impression is that Fish is trying to work out a way to get him a schollie: Transfer out, some player pays his own way for one year, a recruit does not qualify, or, whatever other solution can be dreamed up.....
This gent is way too talented for Fish to not find a solution to his admission situation.
