Aztecs to host Illinois State. UNLV @ Wichita, Co State @ Northern Iowa Disappointing to not play one of those 2, but at least we are at home.

Quick look at Illinois State:
- RPI was 62 this past season (NIT) - Looks like most of their top players are back (do lose their leading scorer) - New Mexico transfer Nick Banyard is on the team and will play next season
Not the most exciting name opponent out there, but looks like a quality opponent that will help RPI.

Friday night home game is pretty good. Illinois St should be a very beatable team, but absolutely not a slouch either. They were just outside the RPI-50 this season, so a repeat of that next season would have them very much count as a "quality win." Excellent news.

At lease we got the home game against "larry bird's" alma mater.
Going to Wichita - would have been tough ticket.........
Take the W.............
now back to stadium fantasy scenarios...............

Seems Boise State should have played a better team. UNLV got the short straw. I'm just happy it's a home game.

Question for Coach Fisher: "On a scale of one to minus one hundred...how excited are you to see this challenge back?"

Question for Coach Fisher: "On a scale of one to minus one hundred...how excited are you to see this challenge back?" Why does he hate it so much? Lack of depth of quality teams? If the Missouri Valley teams replace 300+ RPI teams from Moutain West schedules (admittedly big if), it seems like it is a good thing. Looking at the MVC RPI, they do have 4 teams in the 200's so that's not great, but again if they can replace bad teams on their schedules (add adds a road game for some), doesn't seem like the worst thing to help scheduling.

Would guess Fisher wants to wait to see how many conference games will there be this year 16,18 , 20 ? How many OOC games does SDSU get to schedule. Do not think mid week games are easy travel games , glad we do not have one. It does mean one less OOC game to schedule . Would want to know the formula they have for picking opponents this year and going forward . Why not make it so each school plays one home and one way game . Take it their is no pay out when we are at home .
Did see where the Shockers resigned their HC .
Can we also do one with WCC , but 1 vs 1 , 2 vs 2 ....... based on last year's finish or let the coach 's have their preseason poll to decide rankings . SDSU vs Gonzaga or BYU ?

Glad to have this back. Conference vs conference rivalries are a good thing. MVC seems to offer the best matchups top to bottom for the MWC. When I say "best", I'm talking about equivilant matchups, not toughest. That's acknowledging the MVC was definitely superior to us this season, at least at the top end.

This is not good for the MW...UNLV & CSU will probably lose and the rest (non-SDSU) get games against teams that are not better (from an RPI standpoint) to the bottom half the MW. At least SDSU gets a home game against a non-RPI killing team. Can't say the same for the rest of the league.

I'm sure both leagues are protecting their best team (WSU & SDSU) by giving them home games against 'safe' RPI matchups. As much as I would have loved SDSU to play Wichita State, they were not coming here and SDSU wasn't going there - even though either of those would have been a marquee pre-season matchup, probably on ESPN/ESPN2.

Top 100 RPI team (maybe top 50) at home for no money? What's to hate?

Illinois State is good on defense and returning a lot of players. Expect it to be low scoring
