Hey Real Artificial Analcle urr Oracle, it was announced by NBC in January, well before you said anything about it. Here you go again trying to suggest you had inside information when it was public knowledge for quite some time...

Here you go again trying to suggest you had inside information when it was public knowledge for quite some time... First off lose the juvenile name calling, it doesn't make you look smart. Second, and more importantly, you're wrong. In January NBC Sports announced that the series was going to start up again, but they weren't sure about the date, much less the match-ups. Those were announced about 7 hours ago, or for those of you who weren't math majors eight days after it was predicted by the Oracle. If you're gonna bash it's best to get your facts straight.

all that really maters is we get a decent game . as many as possible to help the OOC schedule . Plus maybe not as many of the cup cakes . Sure hope the T in Vegas around Thanksgiving has some other quality teams besides WVU . any word if the opening round of that T is on the 4 host schools campus or all games in Vegas ? At the New Orleans Hotel

Hmmm. In that case, my apology is warranted! I am the dog in the avatar picture and I just get sick and tired of that little 1 lb kitten taking swipes at me! Puts me in a grumpy mood along with the 65 stitches I just took to my face.

At the New Orleans Hotel As of now, I have our OoC schedule including: Illinois State Long Beach State Utah Kansas & Las Vegas Invitational (West Virginia & who?) Is there Cincinnati game this year? (I think I remember 1 make up game for football and a H&H on top) What's the status of negotiations regarding USD / City Championships? Any other confirmed or unconfirmed games?

I'm sure both leagues are protecting their best team (WSU & SDSU) by giving them home games against 'safe' RPI matchups. As much as I would have loved SDSU to play Wichita State, they were not coming here and SDSU wasn't going there - even though either of those would have been a marquee pre-season matchup, probably on ESPN/ESPN2. Wichita St did come here a few years ago and we went there if my memory serves me.

Don't remember playing at Wichita State during the Viejas/Cox era and certainly did not as part of the prior agreement. The Aztecs need play 18 conference games, 3 tournament games. That leaves 10 games that are available. The Aztecs require 18 home game (including exhibitions). That is 9 games OOC. With 2 exhibition games, the Aztecs can only play 3 OOC road games. If we continue the USD series, the Aztecs needed the challenge to start at home so over the next 4 years only one of those 3 road games will be MVC/USD. That leaves 2 road games that can be 4 home and home series. Home Games: 2 exhibition games, 9 conference games, USD/MVC, and 2 home games from Home and Home Series. That leaves 5 home games that must be purchased. That is really where the schedule makes or breaks Vis a vis SOS.

Wish they could of got a challenge going with the AAC. No disrespect to the MVC, but I'd rather see SDSU go up against a Cincinnati/Memphis/SMU/Tulsa. A SMU-SDSU game would get some nice pub (Larry Brown vs Steve Fisher).

The four years of the challenge had us travel to Drake (2009) and Missouri State (2012), we hosted Creighton (2011) and WSU (2010). They also never match up ranked teams.

Believe the last two years Aztecs have had only 1 official X game , instead they have had a " controlled " scrimmage with Stanford - no public attendance .
They USD / SDSU contract ended last year . So a new deal would have to be worked out going forward . Many have hinted at SDSU they may want a home only . also rumor out there Fisher was not happy with USD that they did not even send a note to Hutson that he was not getting the job , he heard about it after it was reported every where .
Do agree a series with AAC , or even WCC would be helpful , as long as we at least get to play a top 3 or 4 school . Would also not mind if we can not get into B12 that we look at AAC .
HNT ,you are correct about the OOC games so far . Would be great if they could fill the field for the Vegas Tournament , many teams have signed up for other T's .So not sure who may sign up . Could be they may gain some at MM . Also thought there was the article that we did the MBB game at Cincy as pay back for football , but they were talking about Cincy then coming here for MBB game .to finish the agreement.
Do think as we have learned the OOC schedule is even more important for schools not in P5 conferences . So putting that together for Fisher and staff is very important , as they talk with other schools at MM
Since many of the Mountain schools in MW have problems putting together decent OOC schedule the more series they can put together helps them and the MW. But bottom line as long as we can put together a good one , we should be ok . But hate it that many MW schools leave it to beating SDSU to advance into MM .

Wichita St was #30.**

The Aztecs were rated #17 in the country when Wichita State visited. They had already won at Gonzaga 3 weeks before. The Aztecs moved to #14 off that victory and in the following weeks #11 and then #7. Wichita State, at that time, had only lost to that season's eventual national champion UConn. They beat Virginia the previous game 70-58. Wichita would go on to win the NIT that season.

Question for Coach Fisher: "On a scale of one to minus one hundred...how excited are you to see this challenge back?" This move is so typical of that stupid $#!+ Hair. The MVC is rated lower than the MWC. We're the one who's been winning NCAA tourney credits and this will lower our RPI and may affect our seedings. He's unable to see the forest through the trees. I think he did this to protect his cherished goats because they can't schedule worthy teams to play in the mountains.

All true, but when the game was originally scheduled, neither of these schools were the marquee team they are now...My point all along is that neither conference will allow their #1 team to play a very tough road game at this point. Next year will be an interesting test as based on the last time they had the challenge, both WSU and SDSU should be scheduled for road games. I would be very surprised if that will happen.

MVC was #9 while MW was #13 this season "We're the one who's been winning NCAA tourney credits" --> Wrong, I think, within the MW... yes, we're winning the most Tourney credits... but the MVC earned a lot more than we did "this will lower our RPI" --> Almost certainly wrong... Illinois St ended 2014-2015 just outside the RPI top-50, and they look to have a strong team coming back for next season... should be a very solid boost to RPI and chance for a quality win "may affect our seedings" --> CORRECT! See above, a win over Illinois St would definitely IMPROVE our resume and thus seeding... "stupid $#!+ Hair" --> Regardless that everything else you state is pretty much incorrect, we agree that Hair is nonetheless a stupid $#!+

Secondly, if you think any of the P5 conferences would schedule an exchange like this, you would be mistaken.

With this head to head matchup, I say the MWC teams will beat them more often than not because of hosting at altitude and sporadic wins in their houses. I don't care if they got more credits this year. We have been winning the tourney credits for the conference. Sure of course I knew others get credit for being one and done appearances if you want to take it literally.
