Shep continues to be a disappointment. At what point do we just accept that he is average… and maybe I am giving him too much credit. Of course the loss to CSU is disappointing, but they shot lights out. Shep was 0-5 from the field and 2-4 from the line. I'm done… his minutes deserve to go elsewhere. Biggest disappointment this year...

Shep had a horrible night tonight... no question. He's also had some huge games for us. $#!t happens... On balance, he brings enough to the table to have earned a starting spot, but I suspect his leash is getting a bit shorter when he goes stone cold.

I can sleep it off but the WSIII line score will still read the same tomorrow. Take it easy, I was respectful with my observations and did not go blitzkrieg with four letter adjectives. My thoughts are not junk… they are simply my thoughts.

He will be back next year. The only thing he will bring is size and experience. He just don't have the skills to pay the bills. Sitting the last 12 minutes or so is pathetic, but necessary.

He is extremely disappointing in the open court. The only move he does is that high dribble side off balanced step right into the defender every time.
He also looked really lazy on defense today. We definitely need him to play better, but he's surely not our only problem right now.

Funny Fisher loves the guy and will tell u that he brings little stuff to the game that we don't even notice. And he gets to the FT line more than all the rest. I tried ask him about going to the rim soft and not making the shot and settling for two ft attempts and shooting 60%? Not to mention his A to TO ratio. Didn't like it!

I like Shepard's defense but what a waste of speed, quickness and height. I can't think of an Aztec that has gotten less out of his talent. Even the glue guy is getting a lot more out of whatever his skills might be.

Relax. Players have ups and downs. Players still developing and learning have more. How quickly we forget about the 2nd half of the NM game. Today was bad, (our beach stepped it up) but Sheppard is moving in the right direction (which will include ups and downs, but an overall upward trend).
It's not that one can't make negative observations, it is how they are made (tone and content). Think about all the posts about different players needing to be "benched or transfer." If it was up to "this board" we would now be starting our walkons!
Anyway, I'm not going to remember this game for Sheppards bad game (or Chol's or Quinn going 0-6 from 3), but rather for us almost coming back from 17 down on the road, in altitude. And for Pope dunking and draining threes while going for 22. Stay healthy Pope!
keep fighting Aztecs!

I like a lot of things about Shep. However, is there a way you think where we can put him in certain situations to maximize his skills. He's a good rebounder and draws fouls, etc. He's just not a 30 to 38 minute a game type of player which is what we all thought he would be by now. Unlike in baseball where you have a utility player or 8th inning middle relief guy or a nickel back in football, do u see a situation in basketball where we can put Shep in and hide his mistakes while maximizing his skills?

I wish some of you would get a chance to meet these kids and/or their parents and have to look them in the eye after some of the things you say online.

Shep is the teams pt leader, 2nd in assts, 3rd in rebounds, 3rd in 3pt shots,...yet...let's just sit him because he does absolutely nothing for this team.

he'll opt for the nba draft next year, so we won't have to wonder why he's not playing up to his potential.
