I don't even care about this year or conference play...this will jump start our future. Now if we can somehow kick Toledo out, bring in Charlie Weis...add Hoke as a Def Coordinator...we might have something! Those are three of the worst ideas on this board in quite a while. I kid, I kid...Weis hasn't won anything since he stopped watching secret video of the other teams.

Hoke came here and did what we needed him to do, and what he needed to do to get to Michigan. We are done with the man. He never looked back when he left and would do it again. He is no Claude Gilbert by any means. "Fool me one, shame on you. Fool me twice..." San Diego State needs coaches who WANT to be here. For 4 years, we had Fisher, Long, Gwynn who all wanted to be here and nobody could take them from us. The best move into the P5 is to have consistency and quality from coaches who WANT to be here. Coaching transitions are brutal in Football. I'll take Long as his own DC over a Hoke DC any day of the year. GO AZTECS!!! #BelieveTheHype #Win20 #BeatFSU

I know for a fact we have three running backs that can run the football wtf is going on with subs in that position and running 40 plays out of 75 a game?

I agree with you on that one. Hoke really let down the fan-base, and I'm sure he let down a lot of the players. However, as I'm sure we all know, this is a fickle business. I'm certain Hoke reflects quite a bit on this decision as we now speak. Not his decision to leave state, but more so his decision to go to Michigan. Theres a witch-hunt going on over there, and it's going to tarnish his career; I don't think he deserves all that.

He has a nice handoff, lets hope he can make smart decisions on Saturday in Fresneck So did Quinn, and after watching 4 games where he primarily did just that, we are ready for a change!

Shoulder. Hope he heals fast! Shoulders don't heal completely. Or rarely even with surgery.

Shoulder. Hope he heals fast! Shoulders don't heal completely. Or rarely even with surgery. I can personally vouch for that. I've blown out my arm 3-4 times over the years, and each time you come back from it, the ability to use your throwing motion decreases, until it's virtually impossible to throw any other way but underhand. Now I just watch people throw the ball.

Man, that injury sux. And, no, I don't expect QK back anytime soon. It's one of those things that might require surgery and if it doesn't could take months to fully heal.
As for the injury, it was a complete brain fart by QK. Dude was rolling out (how many bad things have happened this season when he rolls out?), we had a big lead, no one was open, and QK shoulda just chucked it to one of the coaches on the sidelines. But he held the ball, kept rolling, rolling, rolling -- until a defender broke through, got a bead on him and absolutely buried him. I hate to pile on, but it was a really boneheaded play by QK.

Now that Bawden might be in the rest of the year, if he plays well it'd be interesting to see how the QB battle is next season. Start J-Rod, or go with the guy with more game experience (Bawden)

I've separated my AC joint before and it actually doesn't have much effect on arm strength or throwing motion over the long haul. I never had surgery and have no limitations from it. However, it is an extremely painful injury and can take awhile for the soreness to go away completely. It really depends on how bad the sprain is but I doubt we'll see him take the field again.

If it were only so simple. Don't you think Fresneck will play the run and dare the green as grass TFr to throw? They certainly will be keying on #19 as the guy that can beat them. We all can hope that Bawden is the second coming of Phillip Rivers but losing QK for the first conf. road game is a body blow for us. What a challenge this will be for his teammates as we continue to incur injuries. I think Oregon State did this with Qk behind center and we still lost with our experiance Qb... They dared our QB to throw and he couldnt find the open guys with man coverage... The real issue is our defense Su@ks.... Rocky has had 6 years to fix this mess and havent seen any improvement... Anytime our offense struggles we lose... It feels as of late if we dont get penalize on a 15 yard pass interferance, our dline receives a 15 yard personal foul... I would be loathe to pile on the defense too much. The rules regarding PI have changed since last year and everyone is getting hit with it. The key is really our offense adjusting to it and looking to pick on opposing defenses and get the PI called more often. With a bit of healing and experience I expect the defense to ramp up as the season goes on. As far as QK is concerned, I love what the kid has done, but I also expect that Bawden can manage the game as QK did. The difference will be that Bawden has the physical tools to utilize more of Toledo's playbook as he becomes more settled in the starting role. It is a shame that with the lead and game in hand Saturday night they didnt let Bawden throw the ball a few times to get ready. A win on the road against Fresno would do wonders for Bawden's confidence. That could be the spark we need to roll the rest of the season. We shall see...

I missed the sarc, but you are correct. What I would really like for our program is the dough still owed to Hoke and Weis. It would be way more than what we get from our sucky TV package.

My shoulders are a big reason I have Football season tix. I shared a class with our S & C coach when he was the QB. One week he came back to class and his shoulder was in a sling, but he still played the next game. That was when he was put out for the season. He and I spoke about our shoulders quite a bit, and in those talks I realized he was driven and a pretty good dude. He told me to go to the games, so I did. 3 other footballers were in that class and he wanted the class to support them. Now, I think QK's shoulder has been a problem all season, and I do not think he will be back in accept in a support role.

Kirk M kept repeating that our DBs were covering as good as possible, but were not showing confidence and panicked as the ball was arriving. In that panic, they grabbed and were flagged. Our DB coach has got to teach these guys to have confidence in their technique.

Broken record. This is the third year in a row that we had to change QB early in the season and go to someone with no experience. So it shouldn't have as much an effect on our psyche as would be true of most teams. Also, Fresno can and will load the box. However, Fresno has a terrible secondary and Bawden has a strong arm . . .

Our DB coach has got to teach these guys to have confidence in their technique. As I wrote in another thread, Bawden will test them in practice. He can throw the long ball. That's how they'll improve on their coverage. The only 20+ yard passes they've seen thus far is in live games. You watch, if Bawden stays injury free we'll see a big turnaround (no pun intended) by the DBs after a couple more games.
