Tim Shelton with his charges drawn, awesome rap videos, and being the undersized big that held the team together.
Special props to Aerick Sanders.

For me my favorite players were Faux and Holcomb, because they were there in the beginning trying to elevate this program from the absolute bottom of the barrel, and they took us to the tournament for the fist time in like 17 years. My next two are Tapley and X as they just play hard and the right way all the time, you just rarely see them make mistakes. My favorite name: Raymond "Circus" King, I think he played one year before transferring to CAL. My Favorite All-Time Moment: When Ben Wardrop fouled out in just 1:11, still the NCAA record. He came of the bench and did his job. This. Al Faux took so many big shots. Definitely one of my all time favorites.

Hard to pick one favorite player. Loved all of the players on the 2010-11 team. All quality individuals with a little bit of talent thrown in for good measure Kyle Spain has always been a personal favorite of mine. When he got suspended his junior year, I remember seeing him at every game sitting on the bench, in a suit, supporting the team. He served his suspension with class and came back his senior year to do a lot of great things on the court.

Ha the Klap, i actually played against him in high school. I made a circus shot and got fouled and he gave me a high five right before i was going to shoot a free throw. Ran into him a few times around campus.

Michael Cage - A man among boys. He still looks like he could suit up and kick everybody's ass and he's what, maybe 50? Kawhi Leonard - Michael's brother by another mother..........just not as big. Barring injury he'll probably also last 14 years in the NBA. And whoever is third is a distant third, although one of next year's new guys could easily be it.
And about Evan Burns..........man I would love to see what he could have done if he went to class.

Chase Tapley. He may not have been the best (although he was VERY good), but I loved his attitude and his work ethic - and the effort he put out on the court.
But, let's face it - the Aztecs have had a lot of great players over the years - I'd take an all time Aztec team up against anyone in college basketball. We just didn't have enough of these guys on the team at the same time to make any significant noise come March until recently.
Imagine this lineup (in their primes)...
Chase Tapley Jamaal Franklin Kawhi Leonard Michael Cage Brian Carlwell Billy White D.J. Gay Xavier Thames Josh Davis Brandon Heath Marcus Slaughter Richie Williams Randy Holcomb
...that's one hell of a team!

Tony Gwen. He had a sweet shot and was a nice guy. He lived a few doors down the hall from me in Zura Hall on campus. He used to show off sinking "treys" in the TV room with a nerff ball and basket. I recall chatting with him and him saying he was there on a BB scholarship, but was going to play baseball too.

Jamaal Franklin. He was so fun to watch. His Junior year, when he won MWC POY, was great. The Aztecs won the MWC title with a team that lost 6 of their top 7 players from the year before. Quite an accomplishment. Jamaal played PF in a 4 guard lineup and dominated. Highlight dunks, air brakes, getting to the free throw line a lot. He also was the big reason we won our NCAA game last year against Oklahoma. They had no answer for him. 9 fouls were called against players who tried to guard him. That took away their strength making it an easy win.

A couple of "IFs" here... IF this question was asked of me in a couple of years, and IF he stays another year, Winston Sheppard. I predict he has the potential to be among the greatest Aztecs ever.
