Marcus Slaughter. His personality was so engaging, and he could really play. Too bad his Dad was a loser.

Kim Goetz. Played two seasons between '77 and '79. 1,005 points. 18.6 ppg. 42 and 44 point games. Top free shooter in school history with 85.2 career and 90.2 his senior year. We called him the Long Ranger due to his skill at making LOOONNNGGG shots.

The most fun I have ever had at an Aztec game was when Akbar Gbjaja-Bialila was cheering for his buddy Al Faux. Akbar was an absolute laugh riot, with the funniest smack I have ever heard. So, I have to go with Al Faux.

Marcus Slaughter. His personality was so engaging, and he could really play. Too bad his Dad was a loser. Just to be the contrarian here.....I know everyone piled on Slaughter's dad for being over controlling, and I wasn't close enough to the situation to know if that was really true. However, if he truly felt he was looking out for his son's best interest, I'd hardly call that being a loser. Deadbeat dads and disinterested dads, and absentee dads are the true losers. OK, I think I just twisted my ankle hopping off my soapbox. Add Eddie Gordon, Leonard Allen, and Tony Bland to everybody's list. Oh and Chris Walton too, just to piss off Lath19, or whatever his name was/is.

Holcomb. He was the first legit player in the Fisher era. He started it all. Just wondering, how many minutes would he, or Bland, or Faux get on today's team? Good question. I think they would log solid minutes. You're right about Holcomb starting it for us. That was a huge pickup.

Tough choice.
To me, the one player that turned the program into a winner was Richie Williams.
But no one played every possession 110% like Billy White.

The Sweet Sixteen Team Players and it is not even close!
No team, players, past, present or future can accomplish what this team did for San Diego State basketball program!
Arguably, the Sweet Sixteen Team Players started it all!! My favorite PLAYERS of all time!!

Aside from Kawhi... Richie Williams and Trimaine Davis.
Not many guys play the game as hard as Kawhi and Richie do. Those two guys were always worth the price of admissions, day in day out. Trimaine gave his all, always hustled, always high fived his teammates on substitutions. Dunked all over people. Played his heart out. Just played the game the right way and was an incredible leader.
Plenty of other favorites but those are my top 3.

Your son was by far my favorite Aztec. I hope he continues to make his presence felt on the Mesa from time to time. Most of us echo that sentiment. Chase is a quality player and person.

Heath was my favorite overall, a pure scorer who went off just about every night. Lo Wade gets a mention for being my favorite dunker.
