You guys need to relax.
Most of the students who go to the game are freshman and haven't been following SDSU football for the last 80 years and they don't go on SDSU related message boards to complain.
The end of semester is approaching and kids are busy with midterms. You combine with a 12:30pm kickoff and attendance will suffer
I mean, when is attendance ever great for 12:30 games around here? Who wants to tailgate at 9am on a cold morning??

You are letting them off the hook. It's a 3-day weekend, midterms are over and finals a month away. Besides they don't study that much. 12:30 should be perfect since they could sleep in and still be home in time for any Saturday night parties. Moreover, tickets are free and trolley gets them there in 5 minutes. Pathetic describes it quite well.

Weak excuses. Are all the 100+ other D1 football schools on a different schedule with exams because I saw hundreds, if not thousands, of students at all the afternoon football games today on TV?

Give me a break about studying for mid terms. It is Sat morning. Who said anything about tailgating? Just come to the damn game. Leave at the half if you need to. If you can't spare an extra 2-3 hours to go to a game for free then your time management sucks.
The high school I work at got more students in the stands last night than SDSU did this afternoon... And the high school students had to pay to get in.

Apples and oranges. Please don't compare SDSU football to any of the other BCS programs that you saw on television today. Those programs have something that SDSU football lacks severely, tradition. Just think about it: we are bowl eligible for the third time in a row for the first time in school history. The win over Boise was the first over a ranked opponent since 96, and the first win ever over a ranked opponent on the road. My point is that our program, relative to the bigger BCS schools, is in its infancy but we are making real progress. You also need to put your fanhood into some perspective and understand that not everyone thinks about SDSU athletics in the way most of us do on this message board. We are obviously above average fans, some of us are straight fanatics. With that in mind, we can't expect everyone else in the community, students or not, to use the same rational about attendance as we do. Also, don't forget how fickle San Diego fans are.

Exactly why there should be more students in the stands.

The problem with that picture is, the students all get shoved over into the corner about three more sections to the right of where that picture shows. Nobody's allowed to sit in those sections that are in the picture.

They didn't even fill up the first row!! That's partly because they don't even know they can sit there. But it was a bad turnout by the students nine-the-less

The support looked pathetic on TV both from students and alums. Our warriors fighting their hearts out sure deserve better. When I lived in LA, I made every home game and people who live within 15 mins don't bother to show up.

They didn't even fill up the first row!! Student section is in the corner; photographer should have pointed his camera about 30 yards to his right. Yeah, but then I wouldn't have been in the picture. ;D

Screw the idea of an on campus stadium. The students don't deserve it. Too cold, too hot, rain, Halloween, holidays, mid-terms, etc, etc. You name it, all disgusting excuses. Marketing should target the alumni families when they get the nBE funds. For the most part marketing SDSU students is a waste of time and money. Kudos to those few who do show up, however.
It wouldn't surprise me to know that students go to Viejas more for the Show than the games. They can't draw that kind of attention in a big stadium, so why bother? That's really where their heads are at.
I hate to sound harsh, but a 6 game winning streak will do that to you.

They should handout the student basketball tickets at halftime of the football games. You must be in a seat at halftime and they'll hand them out there. Any seats not given out will go to the box office to be sold.
