I can see a scenario where SDSU gets a PAC 10 (or 12 or 14) invite. If it looks like we are going to be offered by a BCS league that wants a foothold In SOuthern california that might do it. The PAC would lose their San Diego recruiting advantage.

Yep. Although fans of other schools have been very patient, the TCU "we're going to build a new stadium if admitted to the Big 12" thread on the Mountain West board really takes the cake. Makes me motivated to drive down to Viejas this year when we host them in BB so I watch the onslaught. I really don't understand that, given that Texas and TAMU look upon TCU in much the same manner that UCSmellA and USuckC looks upon SDSU. And seriously, while there is a lot of interest in the Smack-10 here because so many San Diegans attended Smack-10 schools, there is no way any of those schools control this market the way UT and TAMU control the DFW metroplex market. $#!+, those guys are bragging about getting 35K attendance in a market that's than twice ours. According to Wiki, quoting the Census Bureau, the estimated 2009 population was 6,447,615. Even with their recent success, 35K attendance sucks. If SDSU had done what TCU has done over the past few years, we'd see at least 50K in the seats. =Bob One dumbphuck TCU guy asked a rhetorical question as to why the Gang of Five let in some loser programs when they created the Mountain West. Of course, the losers would be us, UNLV and UNM. That dumbphuck ignores the fact that even after hiring Coach Fran and going bowling in 1998, TCU was still 11 games under .500 for the previous seven years in football. I'll tell ya what, Bob. I used to have a lot of respect for the TCU fans but the last week half of them have shown their true colors and they're nothing more than a bunch of whores who are willing to go to any conference where they can make a buck more than they're currently earning.

No offense meant by this so please don't take it that way. 1. Odds of the Pac inviting SDSU: ~100,000: 1. 2. Number of BCS conferences still in existence a year from now: 4. (No more Big 12 or Big East.) 3. Chances of the BCS itself still being in existence a year from now: 60-40. 4. Best case scenario for SDSU: The MWC stays in existence and adds Boise, Kansas and Kansas State. 5. Worst case scenario for SDSU: The MWC ceases to exist and we're faced with either rejoining the WAC (visions of dry heaving) or going independent for football like we were in the mid-seventies.

If nothing else, it's a lot of fun checking out each others opinions of other conferences and teams ... check out Texas blog ... www.burntorangenation.com/2010/6/6/1503779/the-latest-on-the-pac-10-big-ten. For what it's worth, I'm thinking more and more it will not be a major alignment of teams and conferences ... but some fine tuning of conferences. Bring on BSU. Yes, big money is at stake ... but some schools (i.e., Texas) really don't need more money ... just ego satisfaction.

Yes ... showing their true colors ... but when the emotions settle ... it was a good business decision for TCU ... and really a win-win for TCU and MWC. TCU upgraded until a better offer comes their way ... and the MWC strenghtened its conference and national visibility.
With that said ... wouldn't it be sweet for our Aztecs to do a big Texas whooping on TCU at home this season!
