Pissed over a Zuma thread on a message board? Grow up. So you're sending the same message to your buddy Campy, right? He's pretty pissed about things. And yes, I get pissed when I see posts that bash people. I'm all for civil debates, but not for sh**tty bashing. Especially from omes that start the bashing. Got it? I'm not pissed at all. BTW, if you were to look back through other threads there have been times when Steve has been the aggressor. So I went on the offensive in this round. It wasn't long ago that Steve called me a "puss" in another thread. Who cares. Steve is no victim; he and his supporters have called me plenty of names over the years. Sometimes they were provoked and other times they weren't. You should cool your jets; it is just a mascot thread.

You need to cool your jets from the beginning.

The admin has asked Steve and me to refrain from posting messages on this particular subject, and I will comply as long as Steve does. I leave this thread and topic with the following: I do not consider myself a better Aztec fan or more loyal to SDSU because I graduated. I understand that all of us are running our own race. And I appreciate anyone who cares about and supports SDSU academics and sports programs whether they graduated from SDSU or not.. Each of my comments about my experiences on campus came from a position of defense after I was told that I do not care about the school and/or it traditions. My point was, how can someone who has spent the amount of time on campus to complete several personal goals not have strong ties to the school? I owe most of what I have in terms of career, personal growth, and personal wealth to my time spent at SDSU. I love San Diego State and it's traditions as much as anyone. SDSU belongs to all of us, not just those who hold degrees from the school. Having said that, I fail to see how forming a crusade against what SDSU officially calls "a secondary mascot" trumps my experiences on the "loyalist fan of SDSU meter". I'd like to respond to Steve's latest 10 point response and point out what I see as some inconsistencies and double speak, but again the board admin has asked us both to stop. So, I will let Steve have the final say. Anyone who has bothered to read my messages should know by now what my position is anyway. As for personal insults... I have received plenty of personal insults from numerous posters including Steve, and I have given back my fair share. I'm no different from most, if you push I'll shove. To Pssst13... I graduated in 1993 and went on to finished a masters. I too was a working father of two small children, 15 months apart in age. I can appreciate your hard work juggling family, work, and school in the effort to get ahead in life. I do not begrudge you or anyone else for disliking the Zuma character. That is personal taste. I can also understand you questioning why we need two mascots. I have an open mind. Evidently funding is not really an issue as one mascot is paid for by the Associated Students while the other by the Alumni Assn. Both mascots are visible at sporting events. But only one bears the name for whom the school is known, "Aztec". Only one is front and center in representing the school nationally on TV and in name. Only one holds the spear that is presented to inductees to the Aztec Hall of Fame. One mascot is clearly paramount. I think it is a touch closed minded to reject with extreme hostility the idea that there is room for new traditions in addition to the old at SDSU. I'm sorry if I don't agree that my position of openness to the ideas of expansion, experimentation, and inclusion is an example of close mindedness. As for my skepticism over whether the Zuma character was created to phase out the Warrior... what can I say? I'm part of the data based community on this message board. It's just how I'm wired. If you make statements and present them as fact, I will ask you to provide data. I'm also human, if you call me names, make fun of my education, and challenge my loyalty to the school, you my get the same treatment in kind, as Steve and a couple of others found out. Let's agree to disagree on this. I wish you all the best, and I'll see you in other threads. Incorrect Campanile. The MOD's have not asked me to stop talking on this subject and I won't. It is Aztec related and very important. They have asked YOU to refrain from personal attacks.

It's not true that you only retaliate once attacked. You clearly started the bulls**t bashing on this thread. Look it up. I have no respect for people like you. That's why I'm pissed. Pissed over a Zuma thread on a message board? Grow up. Spruce, you have personally attacked me almost as much as Campanile on this board. Over multiple topics. You shouldn't be talking about being pissed over a Zuma thread and you are the one that needs to grow up.

Steve are you still allowed to keep us updated on this? This is a real issue to some of us, its a shame that some had to start throwing stones. Yes, I will be updating on Zuma with any information I find or hear. All the MOD is asking is for posters to be civil and quit the personal attacks (as Campanile has been doing on me for 7 years now).

Not important to you and others but, extremal important to us that feel SDSU should never had to have Monty neutered and now have a regurgitated BYWho Cougar shoved down our throats and maybe replace Monty/Aztec Warrior all together.

For those who are interested, I was looking through the Daily Aztec today and noticed an ad for Aztec Warrior tryouts. Correct. That ad was discussed in the meeting I attended that is this threads topic. I really wonder what would have happened if these threads didn't appear approx 4 weeks ago and the phone calls/e-mails had not started coming in. Would have the SDSU Mascot Committee called a meeting? Would an ad have been placed? The purpose of the these threads was to let the Mascot Committee and San Diego State University know that the Aztec Warrior Foundation is still here and we want them to follow up on what was agreed on when we brought back the Aztec Warrior as the official mascot of San Diego State University. In fact...BRING BACK THE NAME MONTY!!!!

In truth, it is not very important. In the whole scheme of things, it's less important than my dog's dental problems. Some of you folks have too much free time on your hands. Over a million dollars (conservative estimate) was withheld in donations when we didn't have a mascot. Donation totals came back after the Aztec Warrior was announced as the official mascot of San Diego State University. Many donations were attached with notes that they would have never donated again if a human (Monty like) mascot was not restored. Oregon, you are not looking at the big picture. Are you saying that millions of dollars of donations are not important to San Diego State University? Please explain.
