Dude,
You are absolutely stupid because SDSU almost got beat by a 4-6 and 5-7 team!
And I doubt, no, I know Steve Fisher is not telling his PG to shot every freaking shot when he touches the ball! Also, I know Steve Fisher is not telling his PG to dribble the ball for 30 seconds and then, jack a 3 point shot! Personally, I could care less what you or anyone else think about my comments. Aztecs have a good team that can have a special season. They have played three games against inferior opponents and were fortunate to win. Aztecs may not be as fortunate if their PG play does not improve. End of thread and end of story idiot!

Are we really talking about getting rid of the coach that got us to 14-0 and #7 in the country??? Why is everyone hating on fish? Its like we always have to complain about something on this board. We could win the National championship and people will complain fisher didnt do this or should have done this. Without Fisher we would not be where we are now. Instead of complaining and saying Get Rid of Fisher, enjoy this, its only gonna get better The Get Rid of Fisher thread is a joke. It goes back years. During the days when Fish would have a 20+ win team, we'd invariably stub our toe on some mediocre team and lose a game we shouldn't have lost. Faster than you could say, "Bob's your uncle," there would be threads sprouting up like mushrooms declaring that Fish had plateaued and that Fish should be fired. In this case we actually beat teams we should've beaten, but the natives still are restless and a bit uneasy. Ergo, the author of this thread thought it would be funny to post a Fire Fisher diatribe. Things are going so well that we're now mad when we win. That's freakin' hilarious. Get it?

Richie, really? ? We would not be 14-0 with him at the point. I think we would be 14-0 with Richie at point...Or Mark Delsman....Or Dean Decker...Or Tony Gwynn....Or Ray Lever. Mark Delsman? you mean he of the 50' (incomplete) bounce pass? what a blast from the past... I'm not sure he could pick up towels for this team

I hope this is truly the end of your thoughts on this stupid thread. Watch the game and learn. The previous "I played PG" doesn't mean squat and doesn't qualify you to make assine statements about a player whom Coach Fisher has called our most important player on the team. Watch what our kids do after having some time off to get their legs back under them. We have played a damn tough road schedule in the OOC portion of this season. I wouldn't expect you to understand what that does to a D-1 College BB team as you seem to still be living your HS PG days and can't understand the travel these kids go through, not to mention finals as well. Just relax and let the professionals ie Coach Fisher and staff do what they do best and try to enjoy what this fantastic team is doing this year. Or, go ahead and continue to think you can see things Coach's Steve Fisher, Brian Dutcher and Justin Hutson, who do this for a living, can't see.

I agree, Fisher should be fired mid-season after the 14-0 start!

Second, try to learn the game. Nothing happens in a vaccum, it happens while other things happen. Nobody was moving without the ball..... DJ was sucked into those shots. Every time he gave the ball up, they gave it back to him. He had nobody to pass it to, and was often unable to penetrate. A few times, he was. But you are blaming DJ, whatever. The team was tired/lazy or whatever and seemed to put it in DJ's hands to do something. We had trouble getting the ball inside (we tried), and nobody did anything except hand it back to DJ. So, yes, we did not play well, but DJ is more the victim than the culprit. He did not WANT to take 10 3's, he was forced to by our lack of movement. Of course, he has to take SOME of the blame as the PG, but the team put him in bad spots. Would you rather 10 shot clock violations, or 6 points on 2-10 3 pt shooting, because the way we were playing, that is your only option. Also, guess what...It happens.... You don't play your best every game...Look at all the upsets already that have moved us up to #7. Look at Tenn.., Baylor, whoever... We have still found a way to win.

If the Aztecs don't go undefeated and win the National Championship, then I am sure Fisher will be fired. I was wondering how long it would take for the first Fire Fisher thread. I was betting that it would be after the FIRST LOSS, but you really outdid yourself. You started one after a close win.

I agree, Fisher should be fired mid-season after the 14-0 start! Ha,Ha,Ha,Ha,Ha! You can tell he understands little, or nothing about the game and people playing it. Unless this thread is an absolute joke I disregard everything he has said. An imbicile has more intelligence than he is showing here.

I think he's just trolling, although I agree Fisher has a tough time firing his kids up to play every night... although you can't argue with the success this year so far. Also, it's tough to coach in SD with so many distractions: beaches, great weather (and this year: our first ranking).. if he had these kids in Kansas it would be much easier to focus LOL

Of course Gwynn, Lever were better. I am not talking about Delsman being here and beating out DJ. I am saying if there was no DJ and Delsman was the point guard, we may still be 14-0.

As someone who actually DOES play PG (although wheelchair play is slightly different, as you might imagine)...there are two types of point guards : Distributors and scorers. The best point guards have attributes of both. DJ, as most of us know, is doing a fine job. He has made smart decisions with the ball and has made numerous clutch shots. Point guard is the most difficult position to play, by far. You not only have the ball in your hands most often, you also have to manage your offense, direct traffic, and be a LEADER. You have to have some intangibles that cannot be coached. DJ is doing a stellar job so far at balancing his roles and responsibilities.
Why does Miners22 write in a haiku format? I digress...

D.J is a good point guard, but I can't help but think how many more lay ups would be open with Richie's penetration and dish to the bigs here. You can't ignore the fact that he can't penetrate but he has an overrall solid game

My cousin the taco/bagel king could really shoot it from outside. Now, DJ is solid PG and good leader. However, I expected LBF and Tapley to be better. Come tourney time we need LBF to play with maturity.
