Someone needs to tell wicker the stadium is done being built and now he needs to figure out how to fill it on game days. The thing is since about half way though the build things have really dropped off in the athletic department (minus Men's BB). This University needs to take a real serious look at the direction of this football program and work towards major improvements because if not real soon it maybe just too late and will set back this program back in a even bigger way. I believe Wicker is and has been doing a great job. Remember when everyone was excited about finally getting a new coach? It was a great choice all things considered. Lewis is stinking up the joint right now, and I'm pissed too. However, on paper we have a great group of guys and we are going through growing pains. I just feel like coach should make more logical decisions instead of emotional ones. A lot of us said we wouldn't do well on year one, and we didn't. Let's keep that same energy and see what happens next year.

I might give this game 3 quarters. 3 quarters of what? A dead duck? I even stayed into the 4th quarter. Not really sure why.

My favorite play of the game was the one immediately after the 72-yard fumble recovery by Staley. 2:52 left at the UNLV 28 yard line, down 21 points and the idiot Lewis calls a Cooper run up the middle. It REALLY is insanity! Almost as bad when we had the ball with like 15 seconds left at our own 25 at the end of the first half. Instead of taking a knee and regrouping in the locker room, he ran Cooper 3 times up the middle, even calling a time out in between plays! One of the OL got hurt on one of the plays and came up limping badly. What possible reason could he have for doing that?? Also, going for 2 after the first TD. WTF was that!? These game examples were the last straw for me, I am OUT on Lewis!! Hopefully, some wealthy donor is willing to come up with enough money to buy out the contract. Likely wont happen, but you never know. This is as bad, if not worse, than the Hoke/Hecklinski combo

To me, they aren't the problem. We came into yesterday's game a three TD underdog so Lewis took some chances, fake punt and the decision to try to drive the field at the end of the first half. To me, the offense is performing better than what they are working with up front. Lewis will have three years to run the team. He ain't getting fired this year and neither is Wicker.

Hoke got an extension in 2022. He was aka “retired”2023. So the automatic he gets three years. Doesn’t hold water anymore especially in the transfer portal era and watching SJSU and New Mexico improve their program in one year. Also it the president that has the full authority. Right now Wicker better hope Lewis turns it around or they are both gone.

3 quarters of what? A dead duck? I even stayed into the 4th quarter. Not really sure why. For the first time ever (don't read this AzTex) I turned off the Aztec game at halftime. I am not punishing myself any longer. I am done with Aztec football for the rest of this season and maybe longer depending on what changes. I feel bad because these young men are warriors and they deserve better. I just cannot continue to watch and support this train wreck. I have never supported firing Lewis to date, but man it is hard to get behind this mess. And to think, some were worried we would not able to keep Lewis, and he would bolt for Wisconsin first opportunity. 😂😂😂

No one says "bench" Cooper. But he sure doesn't get stronger as the game wears on no matter what these announcers say every week. We realistically believe the offense would be better if you brought in different RBs at different times. Or maybe bring in other QBs for experience when we're way behind. Those are both completely rational and practical suggestions.

Lewis gets at least 3 years. I expect his teams will be above .500 years 3&4.
Right now the offense just doesn’t move the ball with any consistency. O’Neil had 161 yards throwing the ball? Cooper managed 98 yards on 26 carries. Lewis needs to recruit some monsters on the OL or this will be his LAST job as a Div I head coach.

thoughts for the last 2 games: #5 will play 100% unless injured. Even injured he will still play. #15 will get 99% of the running plays. BUT in the last game the other running backs will get one or two carries each. Lewis will explain how close the Aztecs came to winning. They just needed a couple of breaks. He will see that the team continues to prepare for next season (with whoever sticks around). We all will bitch and complain, and ticket sales will drop and the SDSU administrators will wonder why. After all, there's a new stadium.

Either way this has become a JOKE, Oline injuries or not to continue to play an injured QB (if that's what it is) and the same running back over and over with diminishing returns. Why does this coach repeatedly run the same guy into the back of his Olinemen? does he have a contract requiring he get 1,000 yards and a 5,000 career yards? Does Cooper and O'Neil have dirt on Coach Lewis?

Can anyone give me any reason why professional reporters continue to ignore these coaching decisions and not ask the coach publicly about them? That makes as little sense to me as Lewis's ridiculous choices.

IMO, the best option when you gave a banged up OL and injured QB that already isn't extremely mobile, is to get reps to the athletic QB that can scramble.

Someone already post this about Wicker 1. ridiculous extension of Hoke 2. extenson of womens BB coach who has been simply awful 3. new baseball coach who led the team to last place last year 4. and now Lewis?? 5. Could have gotten in the Big12 for half the TV contract 6. You can add extension to the old baseball coach before firing for the new baseball coach. Tell me is that doing a great job?

It's as if they didn't even know we had a game---but then, I think that may have been Lewis's thinking as well.
