Showing kindness and compassion towards others?
Providing help for those who cannot take care of themselves? (Health care, financial assistance for those in need to pay for basic living expenses, proper funding for education, etc.)
Showing respect and tolerance for others who are different from you? (Race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, etc.)
I see a lot of real anger and resentment from our members on the right. Angry that people dared bring up Trump's many flaws and racist/homophobic/cruel comments. Angry that when Republicans say and do reprehensible things they are called out on it.
Being better isn't bad. It's good. Tolerance, compassion, caring, kindness - these are the most important virtues any human being can show towards others.
Why aren't those things valued by the right?

I have a feeling the misogynistic right sees all that as a form of weakness. They need to crush anything outside of their circle of comfort. It's really too bad those dbags can't just live and let live.

Being kind, courteous, respectful, tolerant, caring, compassionate - that's going a bridge too far!

Not shocking.

Still no response from our Republicans. Not shocking. Maybe state it as Republicans, Conservatives, and/or Independents. You might get a better response.

Independents haven't been mean spirited, cruel, or insulting. Republicans have. They've been the ones to show a lack of those things I noted in the original post. I'm just wondering why they think the fundamental characteristics of being a good human being aren't valuable. Why do they seem to think those things are a sign of weakness? Do they really not value those things?

Come on, you got one member that ridicules, mocks, scorns, trolls and is just a downright keyboard bully with many posts. There’s zero tolerance, compassion, caring, or kindness all under the guise of some kind of know-it-all god and no one else matters, but those that drink out of the same cup. And to make it horrific, just makes stuff up. I’ve never been a Republican, been a Green for decades hoping for a third party, almost any third party, so I can’t speak as a Republican. The rest of your post is broad sweeping and conjecture. Perhaps if you were specific with examples, you might have the replies you are expecting. Broad brush isn’t going to cut it. Enjoy your weekend and I hope you are feeling better. It was freezing for this old guy in Snapdragon last night, but we stayed to the bitter end. The only positive, it was easy to find my car and very little after the game traffic.

Yes, it definitely goes both ways which is typical. I said that he should be talking to Independents, and Conservatives, as well if he wants a broader response since those people fit the category of not wanting a Harris administration. Heck, plenty of Dems, as well. It went across the board.

Still no response from our Republicans. Not shocking. Most Republicans are still savoring the overwhelming victory. It’s weird. The Dems ran the most divisive scorched earth campaign I have ever seen. I mean really: -Multiple assasination attempts on our candidate. Repeated requests from Donald Trump for more Secret Service protection were denied. -The White House unleashed the DOJ on our candidate. Truly unbelievable. -Multiple punitive fines (hundreds of millions of dollars) levied against our candidate. Truly unprecedented. -A constant barrage of insults and demonizations against our candidate (and republicans in general) by a powerful cabal of liberal democrat controlled media outlets and social media. -The Democrats playing fast and loose with electoral rules, the candidate switcheroo when it became publicly visible that President Biden is demented and mentally unfit for any office. -The comprehensive gaslighting concerning President Biden’s mental state. Now that all of those scandalous shenanigans have led to GOP control of every branch of government, you are requesting kindness and compassion? We’ll see. President Trump will most likely become so focused on cleaning up Biden’s messes, he won’t even bother with the political payback the left is now dreading.

It will be interesting to see if Trump implements the whole "Project 2025" plan, pitched by Ryan. He said that he WILL use it. We shall see.

None of that has anything to do with what this thread is about. This is about how the PEOPLE of this country are treated. Not the candidates. It has everything to do with this thread. The elected candidates will now set the policies they ran on, that’s how our political system works. Many people in this country from both parties can turn off the television and not have their thinking influenced by programs such as The View or Fox and Friends. However, there are others who are very impressionable who watch Whoopie Goldberg or Joe Scarborough broadcast their hatred and fear and take these messages to heart. I was attacked and vilified pretty much every day on this very site because I dared support you know who. Now that Trump and his side have won convincingly, are you are asking that the GOP accept your side’s phony virtue signaling? I did not see much tolerance caring kindness or compassion from the Democrats in the past few months when they were ruthlessly lusting for political power. If you are concerned with the millions of illegals who came into this country under Biden/Harris, they are probably going to get the Obama/Clinton treatment. Meaning those two were the biggest deporters in presidential history. abcnews.go.com/Politics/obamas-deportation-policy-numbers/story?id=41715661If the Democrats had swept their way into power, they would be relishing the spoils and acting like winners. That is one of the few things I respect about the Democrats, they know how to wield political power.

I'm talking about people being bullied, insulted, and tormented for who they are. Blacks (text messages going around about them now being slaves and to report to plantations - really bad stuff from the MAGA crowd), Hispanics, gays, trans - these people are literally being cruelly tormented and their lives are a living hell because of the way they are treated by people who are in the MAGA crowd.
Is it really that hard for people on the right to just be kind?
I mean, attacking Donald Trump FOR THE THINGS HE'S ACTUALLY DONE AND SAID is not an attack on you. If you support or excuse the things he's said, then, yeah, you earned some harsh criticism. But if you're just (as many people I've seen online are) taking personal offense to attacks on Trump, and using that as an excuse to say horrible racist, sexist, misogynist, anti gay, anti trans stuff? That's not OK. That is utterly unacceptable.
It just seems like the Republicans have an inherent lack of EMPATHY.

That stuff is earned, not given freely. If you cared about people making things up, you'd be worried about others far more than me, but they are on the same side you are, that becomes inconvenient.

Sure Trump goes off the rails at times, but your side also needs to clean up the vile, mean spirited, and cruel stuff. Then there's the former darling of the left, Barack Hussein Obama aka Barry Soetoro with his mean spirited stuff, rabble-rousing violence!!!
“They bring a knife… we bring a gun” – Obama “I want you to argue with them and get in their face” – Obama “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry. I’m angry” – Obama “ Hit back twice as hard” – Obama “We talk to these folks, so I know whose ass to kick” – Obama “Republican victory would mean hand to hand combat” – Obama ” Punish your enemies” – Obama “I’m itching for s fight” – Obama So, you want to know why people don't reply, you only see one side of the coin. After Tuesday's ass kicking, that's tails.

You're quoting generic POLITICAL rally type comments and equating them with true hatred and cruelty. Telling black people that they're going to be slaves again and to report to plantations? Come on, that's beyond the pale. Mocking transgender people, making their lives hell? Mocking gays just for being gay? That's PERSONAL, not political.
