This program needs to understand they always going to have issues every year putting together O-line and D-line guys due to lack of funding and support. This is basically means they need to accept the fact it would be cheaper and easier to build your player's then to buy them but it will take time and some startup money.
This program is going to need MUCH more production from their Strength and Conditioning Program going forward, that is spend the money on the S&C program.
More Staff More Nutritional support More documentation and record keeping More involvement of the Exercise and Nutritional Sciences (ENS) department More contact with local High Schools in area More More More Production, Bigger Stronger Faster (AztecFast?) sorry, got carried away.
and better communication and working relationship with the Athletic Training Department (not that there is an issue but can always be better)
SDSU needs to build up the reputation of this program by producing data showing what and how they are producing year after year with facts!, that is by showing day by day week after week improvements that recruits and transfers can see year after year at SDSU. Needs to start NOW!
***This does not mean just throw some money at it and buy a few new machines and a couple bumper plates, really address the issues and staff up the program and get everyone to buy-in.

Does Coach Lewis want to be a great Head Coach or a Great OC? That is the question because he is proving he can NOT do both and it's becoming clearer and clearer every week! Agreed. He needs an offensive coordinator, but can he admit that fact? Lindleys's job is offensive analyst. WTF does that mean? I think Lewis is just a control freak.

Agreed. He needs an offensive coordinator, but can he admit that fact? Lindleys's job is offensive analyst. WTF does that mean? I think Lewis is just a control freak. Lindley was retained because he had a contract. He spends his time with the TE’s but I would have to imagine Lewis will not retain Lindley and will spend it some other fashion. I would keep the defensive staff, but they need to find a way to get the players to tackle better. Special Teams are up and down. It’s not a clean shop. KO’s going out of bounds, constantly being trick played, missed fg’s, and last night terrible coverage. Offensively, other than the WR’s is anyone operating at a c level? The line is worse than last year and that takes some serious effort to accomplish.

Yet Boise has been. Looks like they might be again. You can make a strong argument they've been better than our basketball program. Given that football is substantially more important than basketball, they've really outpaced Aztec hoops. Yet, you say we will "NEVER" that good. That's typical Aztec fan mentality. You may be correct that we never will, but it doesn't mean that we never COULD. Just keep hiring mediocre coaches and that'll definitely be the case. I understand that you’re trying to make a point about there being no reason why SDSU can’t be a great football program, which I agree with. However, saying the Boise St. has outpaced SDSU in basketball is a ridiculous statement, even under the context of saying this because football is way more important to Boise St. Say that out loud and let it register with how absurd it sounds. Since 2010 (I think Boise joined the MW in 2010 or 2011) SDSU has made the NCAA tourney 11 times, advancing to the round of 32 six times, advancing to the sweet sixteen four times, and advancing to the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP in 2023. I’m even excluding the 2020 team which was the best in program history. During this same span, Boise St. has made five tourney appearances, three of which were “first four” playin games and have amassed a total of ZERO VICTORIES. SDSU has won five MW tourneys since 2010, Boise has One. SDSU has won or tied for ten regular season championships to Boise’s two. I’m not trying to pick a fight here, and I enjoy most of your posts, but c’mon Dan, this is silly. We were saying similar things about the FB program in 2022. And, look where we are. This is a new era and NIL is the name of the game. I am stunned at the number of Schools that used to be doormats are suddenly killing it the last two years. Vegas, Indiana, SMU, etal. The lack of NIL will kill the two Sports that matter. Four of the five MW-Pac Schools have had boosters step up with massive donations since the announcement. State ? Crickets.
