It may take a lot of imagination. AFA isn’t that small of a market, plus it gets the military following which is huge. SJSU is in one the biggest markets in the country. Granted they don’t get much audience in that market but the networks don’t seem to care much about that. UNLV is a fairly large and emerging market. Reno/Tahoe isn’t that small anymore. Wyoming gets a crapload of oil money. Albuquerque has population north of 500k - it’s not a tiny city. And El Paso/Las Cruces is close to a million between them now. I could see them getting to $3 million. We shall see though. Stop… the MWC will sign a deal at the level of the Sunbelt… with or without UNLV

Such lowbrow shenanigans. The rest of organized college football must be in tears - laughing at this shiztshow.

x.com/PeteThamel/status/1838370269091524713Now every MW team is sitting there thinking, should I be number 8 in the PAC? A MW full member team, Hawaii or UCONN can fill out membership so it's now a prisoner's dilemma, oddly USU saved the PAC's bacon.

Sounds like UNLV, Nevada and SJSU all have not signed to stay with the MW.

At least USU is on THIS side of the Rockies.
That's about the only positive here.

I think they are leveraging the MWC for the best deal they can get from the PAC. Short term, the money may be fine but long term the conference is as much of a shell as the PAC was after losing 10. I don't see their alumni and booster being in favor of staying.

Per Ross, once USU backed out it null and voided all the other commitments. AFA's deal is gone and so is UNLV's.

So what if the PAC took 7 MW schools, which forces AFA to the AAC, then dissolves the MW conference and pay out Tulane, Memphis or UTSA exit fees, secure Gonzaga and call it a day.

Say what you will about USU they want to better their lot, if the reports are true. They turned down the bag from Nevarez and showed more belief in themselves than Memphis, Tulane, and USF. They took the offer from the PAC and used it to leverage the AAC.
You have to say they are more like the PAC than the MW in terms of mindset.

At the end of the day, if we get rid of Wyoming, SJSU, Hawaii, UNM and Nevada it was a good day.
Remove a handful of schools no one cares about for 2 remnants of the Pac-12 is a positive in my books. Now it’s just a sit around and wait to see what happens with the ACC and see if they want to merge in a few years with a Pacific and Atlantic division.

WSU Oregon State SDSU Boise State Colorado State Fresno State Utah State UConn (Football only) Gonzaga (basketball and olympic sports) Wouldn't mind seeing St Mary's for BB if the Zags join. Unless I'm missing something
