Yes, but it sort of looked like he knew what he was doing. For one year, 2009. He didn't appear to know what he was doing after that year, however. At least when he took over he had a RS sophomore at QB named Ryan Lindley. Also, he didn't have to deal with issues of the portal or NIL. Its a different world nowadays. Now, I was pushing to hire Tony White from Nebraska but I did, and still do, think we made a good choice in Lewis. Despite many G5 coaching openings, White didn't get the call. Didn't the D go from ranking in the 70s nationally to top 40 in a single season?

So the lesson is if they mess up, they can make their coach do conditioning exercises with them? Way to spell out the "consequences" of your actions, coach 😂 Unbelievable! That'll sure teach um and he is showing leadership. I mean come on, you are not their friend, you are their Head Coach! Sometimes, tough love is what is needed. Stop trying to be everyones best friend! Tough times, call for tough measures, and your approach is not working. I hope you don't figure this out too late. Mistakes have consequences, and you are not seeing these mistakes get addressed. I am starting to question the approach. Lewis talks endlessly about accountability & being the alpha Yet, the moment he let his adopted son get away with flipping the bird by leaving him on the field he demonstrated to everyone that he ain't no alpha and he definitely doesn't hold players accountable He has Chuck Long vibes

I really thought y'all would give Lewis 5 games before trying to run him out of town.

I feel bad for all the other RBs, knowing that Cooper is going to see about 80% or more of the RB touches. That sure won't help recruiting. Well, he's averaging 5.9 ypc so there's that...

I guess we're all wrong on all accounts here

You're right He hired the defensive coordinator responsible for this What was Hoke's thing? Defense and toughness. So again, progress on the thing he hangs his hat on demonstrating competency at his job on his first run as head coach

A bad taste after two games where we were truly outclassed can do that, but we seem to be forgetting the competition level that they are playing for a team re-engineering our program. Some things to certainly keep our eyes on in terms of his handling of the attitudes, and if he makes adjustments from these games though.

But it appears that we were "outclassed" by mediocre teams, not stellar. So, the shadow makes things gloomy, and the "shade" continues growing.
