I didn't expect a good offense but an improved offense from 2023. That 2023 O scored on Oregon State with a safety starting at QB Having a worse offense than the 2023 version is definitely a disappointment How many starters from last year's team are out there on offense? 3? 4? You've got a bunch of guys out there that have never started and are playing in a new system. It takes more than a couple games to really get that down. Anyone going off on this coaching staff over this game is absurd. Now, if we had 8 or 9 starters returning, and the system wasn't all that different from what they played in before, sure, there would be reason to be a little concerned. But under these circumstances? Give me a break. The only thing I'm going off on is the last 4 plus minutes of the game.He made some horrible decisions in that time frame. I thought our defense was very good.

Somehow UNLV went from a doormat to a MWC contender in a single season with a brand new system & a two deep full of transfers. Last freaking year!
And yet, that's the same reason San Diego State can't succeed? Why is that? What does UNLV have that SDSU doesn't?
Again, June Jones took a power-I team that lost 19 consecutive games and transformed them into a top 5 national passing offense and a bowl win in a single season. Jones took a QB who sucked at quarterback in the power I and in one season got him towards the top of the national passing rankings.
So these excuses for Lewis are just that. The standard isn't what those two coaches did, but at least be headed in that direction. Getting shut out because your Fast Offense can't get out of its own way with their Pop Warner mistakes ain't that. It's the exact opposite. Then adding quitting with 4:38 left in the game as a cherry on top.

Against conference teams they lost to Fresno, Boise and SJSU. Right now, we have the same record as they had last year after 2 games though I would say our 3rd game at Cal will be much tougher than UNLV's game against Vanderbilt, who they beat by just 3 at home. I'm sure someone on here knows the answer to this, how much does UNLV get in NIL compared to SDSU in football?

Maybe if Lewis got the QB he wanted thru the portal or from HS then he wouldn't need those excuses... ...oh wait We haven't seen Duffy, but when was the last time we had a frosh QB who looked as good as O'Neil?

I don't know how much UNLV has compared to SDSU but Florida State's $NIL football budget is $12,000,000 this year with $2,000,000 of that going to their starting defensive front. They're 0-2 and fading. Giving bags of cash to kids is about as dumb as you can get and eventually these NIL$ donors are going to see that they're not getting their money's worth. For now it's the Garden of Money Eden for the kids but it won't last.

Also there's a sizable gap between Michigan 2023 to this year's Oregon State team who gave up multiple scores to Idaho State the week prior Again, at this point it ain't about wins and losses but how they arrived there. Most of us didn't expect the Aztecs to beat Oregon State but expected an improvement on offense. What we got was a complete regression from last year in addition to the coach quitting
