As HC Lewis has run the ball 61% of the time, he has always “run” a run first offense… but he has done it out of innovative sets and at break neck speed… There are going to be some “sputtering” this year as they try and figure it out… Lewis wants Brock Purdy not Justin Fields… At CU they passed it 59% of the time and that’s with the last 3 games where they only threw it 52% of the time. www.teamrankings.com/college-football/stat/passing-play-pctWe shall see what he does. Even Rocky was fascinated with spread power. So who know maybe old dudes like me can evolve. As a HEAD COACH… as an OC he had to do what Deon wanted… At Kent State… 61% run percentage

Looks like Lewis got it rigs but my question is, why didn’t QB2 get reps at the end of our first game?

JTJ got in for a bunch of handoffs and one designed QB run.

The offense looked very nervous in the 1st half. O’Neil’s passes were sailing on him, WR’s were dropping balls and the OL was getting pushed around BY A DIV 1AA team!
The second half, the OL settled in and opened holes for Cooper, finally the Aztecs have an explosive back, it’s been a few years. After that O’Neil got his arm under control and made some nice throws to Brown, Poke, Wolfe.
Danny O’Neil kind of reminds me of David Lowery, lots of energy and guts…..he took some hits and looked a little woozy in the 3rd quarter but still delivered some strikes. He will get a good test this week vs a good D1 level defense. O’Neil is a legit dual threat QB.
The defense looks fast, but kind of undersized. Let’s see how they do vs Oregon St. this week.

O'Neil is a freshman. He needs all the reps he can get. I don't blame the coaches whatsoever for not playing QB2 more

As the season goes on it would be good to see JTJ get some meaningful minutes late in games that we have a sizable lead or disadvantage. I think O neill is going to be teriffic but JTJ can be as well and maybe even has more potential hate to lose him.

JTJ or J-T! I like it! Can never remember his whole name? " So let it be written; So let it be done."

When you haven't realized all your hate.😉

It is also used to separate items in a list and to mark the place of thousands in a large numeral.🤔

Rather than backup QB, I was wondering why our backup RBs didn't get more touches. I guess I've gotten used to the running back by committee that we've used the last few years. I just hope we don't wear Cooper out by the end of the season. We have some really good backups.
