Of course I was actually referring to the infamous DII Southern Arkansas Muleriders and the Montana State Northern Lights. The Montana school has an acceptance rate of 100% with 683 students. I don't think I've ever seen an institute of higher learning with a 100% acceptance rate.

That's embarrassingly bad. They're going to have to win the MWCT to get into MM unless they just completely run the table. There are some tournament teams in that tournament, Duquesne, South Dakota State. Clemson was good last year, USF sometimes is good. They really need to not have any bad losses, that's going to be the key for them. Besides, a lot of it will depend on the strength of the MW next year. If the Mountain West is good next year, that schedule is OK enough for them to get a pass by the committee. However, if those teams that I mentioned have bad years, it could be a bad OOC schedule. Updated Donkey 24/25 MBB Schedule (10 Games):11/6 Oakland (Horizon) 11/9 USF (WCC) 11/17 Clemson (ACC) 11/24 Hampton (Big South) - Cayman Island Classic 11/25 South Dakota State (Summit), Duquesne (A10) - Cayman Island Classic 11/26 TBD - Cayman Island Classic 12/3 Utah Tech (WAC) 12/7 Washington State (WCC/PAC2) 12/14 St Mary's (WCC) in Idaho Falls 12/17 Texas Southern (SWAC) Despite their crappy schedule. they go 6-4 or limp in at 5-5 in the OOC.

Lastly the Art Fart Academy 12/2 Miami Ohio (MAC) 12/16 Northern Colorado (Big Sky) Need to look into Air Force's OOC, but today CAL announced CAL, Mercyhurst, Sacramento State and Air Force in an MTE event, the event will be late November or early December. CAL & Madsen looking to pick up a few "W's" before ACC play.

I had to share BYU's non-conference schedule. While most Group of Five conferences are looking to play higher-ranked teams, BYU and the Big XII seem to be scheduling some of the weaker opponents/bottom feeders for their 2024/2025 non-conference.
Here you go, Mesa these are BYU's non-conference opponents for the 2025 season, according to Bart Torvik:
Central Arkansas: 352 UC Riverside: 170 Queens: 279 Idaho: 214 Mississippi Valley State: 363 Ole Miss: 39 (MTE) Purdue: 16 / NC State: 58 (MTE) Providence: 60 Fresno State: 317 Wyoming: 159 Florida A&M: 342

Except for the couple P5 schools, it looks like what New Mexico's OOC schedules used to be. Not this year though.

Except for the couple P5 schools, it looks like what New Mexico's OOC schedules used to be. Not this year though. 8 cup cakes, 3 sub top 75 games. There will be fewer and fewer opportunities for mid to high ranked G5s like SDSU when the P5s are looking to stack their OOC schedules, and count count on conference games for Strength of Schedule.

I agree but I'm hoping we can stay up in that rarified air of Gonzaga-like schools that the P5 schools want to play once or twice in their sea of OOC cupcakes.

Agree as MTE events tend to be neutral and not a great test, but still can be good. You need to test your team and challenge. Playing cupcakes doesn't really do much, just ask Hobos. Now, if you first real test is conference after cupcakes, you might be out of the NCAA tournament discussion with the quickness. BIG12 might be an exception if you do well, but then you putting all of your eggs in one basket and you have to depend on others. I prefer we determine out own fate and test the team early. Take your lumps and improve so you are hitting your stride when conference play starts. Just my opinion.

We will not see Coach Acker and the Long Beach State team in 2024/25 season. But Coach Acker did secure a game with "the other SDSU" MBB team and a San Diego school (USD.)
Final Long Beach State schedule: 11/4: La Verne 11/8: at South Dakota State 11/13: at San Francisco 11/16: Portland 11/20: at Gonzaga 11/23: Fresno State 11/25: UNC Greensboro (Henderson, NV) 11/26: UTEP (Henderson, NV) 11/27: San Jose State (Henderson, NV) 12/10: at San Diego 12/19: at Pepperdine 12/22: La Sierra

I don't think I've ever seen an institute of higher learning with a 100% acceptance rate. Actually 73.3%. A "C" average in high school seems to be required. So, for those who are denied entry by their favorite "Ivy" maybe Montana State would fill the bill.

would guess that Dutcher will want to schedule some games before the team plays the Zags and T in Vegas We're eagerly anticipating the announcement of the next five out-of-conference games. Word on the street is that USD may make a return to the schedule, and Dutch may face off against UCSD once more? Last season, we took on UCSD, Point Loma and Saint Katherine's, but with Saint Katherine's closing its doors this spring, you can count them out. SDCC and CSU San Marcos also seam to be more exhibition games vs OOC level. We're going to need to fill in early November games prior to the Zags, plus finals week in December. Given the 20 MWC conference games, we will see those start in December as well. The good news: Gonzaga, Creighton, Oregon, Texas A&M & CAL should boost our SOS and NET rankings before we get into those twenty MW conference games. Nevada Sports Net predicts we finish 7th in the MWC. nevadasportsnet.com/news/reporters/post-transfer-portal-mountain-west-basketball-power-rankings-for-2024-25-season. 1) Boise State 2) Nevada 3) New Mexico 4) Utah State 5) UNLV 6) Colorado State 7) AZTECS 8) Air Force 9) San Jose State 10) Fresno State 11) Wyoming

The MW has sent out a MW Conference schedule out to all schools to review per UT
USU has posted that they will be playing At SDSU on 12/ 28 and that SDSU will be At USU - 2/22 - IMO this favors USU as they will have their students there for the 2/22 game and they might not have it there for a game 12/28
Schools are expected to release the schedules in the next couple of weeks and release them But also keep in mind that the TV Networks can revise the days of games to fit their schedules
