Here's our Aztecs, so far 11/26 Texas Tech (Big XII) 11/27 Creighton (Big East)/Oregon (Big 10) 11/29 TBD - Players Era NIL 12/11 Cal Baptist (WAC) 12/21 CAL (ACC) TBD Gonzaga (WCC) Texas A&M not Texas Tech 11/26 Texas A&M (SEC) 11/27 Creighton (Big East)/Oregon (Big 10) 11/29 Creighton (Big East)/Oregon (Big 10) 12/11 Cal Baptist (WAC) 12/21 CAL (ACC) TBD Gonzaga (WCC) Per SDUT June 12, 2024"...SDSU committed to play in the Players Era Festival for three years. The plan is to expand to 18 teams in 2025, with Gonzaga, Michigan, St. John’s, Syracuse and Saint Joseph’s already in. Duke, Kansas and Virginia reportedly are targeted as well..." "...The Aztecs also had been invited to play in the Maui Invitational in 2026 but will pass on that for the Players Era Festival and the prospect of $1 million per year pledged to each entrant’s NIL collective plus up to another $1 million for the winner..."

Can't wait to see where that will eventually rank in OOC schedules. We were #11 in Kenpom for Non-Conference strength of schedule last year and that one doesn't look nearly as hard as this coming year's. Our boys better grow up fast.

Boise State looks like this so far: 11/6 Oakland (Horizon) 11/9 USF (WCC) 11/17 Clemson (ACC) 11/24 Cayman Island Classic 11/25 Cayman Island Classic 11/26 Cayman Island Classic 12/3 Utah Tech (WAC) 12/17 Texas Southern (SWAC) And the Boise schedule looks even worse when you see the other Cayman Island participants: High Point, Hampton, South Dakota State, Duquesne, Missouri State, Old Dominion and Boston College. What a terrible Tournament! 11/6 Oakland (Horizon) 11/9 USF (WCC) 11/17 Clemson (ACC) 11/24 Hampton (Big South) - Cayman Island Classic 11/25 South Dakota State (Summit), Duquesne (A10) - Cayman Island Classic 11/26 TBD - Cayman Island Classic 12/3 Utah Tech (WAC) 12/17 Texas Southern (SWAC)

They're going to have to win the MWCT to get into MM unless they just completely run the table.

realize that Dutcher/ and the scheduling staff take their time in putting together the OOC but it is quite important to do it as good as they can considering a variety of factors that come with setting up a quality yet manageable schedule combined with practices
This season there are not as many experienced players returning and it may take a while to teach the newer players the defense and possibly a varied offense

They're going to have to win the MWCT to get into MM unless they just completely run the table. There are some tournament teams in that tournament, Duquesne, South Dakota State. Clemson was good last year, USF sometimes is good. They really need to not have any bad losses, that's going to be the key for them. Besides, a lot of it will depend on the strength of the MW next year. If the Mountain West is good next year, that schedule is OK enough for them to get a pass by the committee. However, if those teams that I mentioned have bad years, it could be a bad OOC schedule.

Clemson lost their top 2 scorers but should still be pretty good. Duquesne has a new coach and 6 transfers to bring in. South Dakota State lost 3 Senior starters.

Now we're going to have to listen to the boozy cry baby's about the MWC invites & seeds if they make it again to the NCAA Tourney. Rice himself is 0-5 in the NCAAs, with 3 play-in losses in Dayton.

We play CAL in San Jose, a Neutral court, but still close to the Berkeley Campus. Though not a true away game.

smart add to get the Neutral game - CAL now an ACC team -
also opportunity for the coaches to be looking at some HS players in the area or maybe see if some might attend the game

All's Quiet on the Western Front, the MW front for our Aztecs OOC, but our schedule is second to none so far. Optimism in our camp with the 15 guys ballin' in summer workouts. Excited to see Magoon, Taj and Pharoah on the Viejas floor.

I asked Coach Acker this very question and he didn't think it would be possible this year. Sounds like their schedule might already be filled or close. I did tell him that I hope we get back on the schedule. Games at the pyramid are a good time and easy for travel.

sounds as if this could be a decent T for Nevada - with some schools from P6 conferences - then it depends on the draws Nevada gets

with the new coaching staff at Fresno - sure seems as though they are trying the come out of the OOC schedule with numerous wins but not much in the way of challenging games New HC Walberg promised entertaining basketball and hopes to revitalize Fresno State. On his staff, former Kentucky assistant John Welch, who previously coached on Jerry Tarkanian’s staff, plus Rancho Christian High School Head Coach Ray Barfield and New Mexico State women’s basketball assistant coach Jaren Harris. FSU welcomes 4 new guards: 6'5" David Douglas Jr. University of Wisconsin Green Bay’s and Horizon League Freshman of the Year who averaged 8.5PPG, 6'0" Jasir Tremble who was an NJCAA Division III Second Team All-American this year after averaging 23.4 PPG, 6'4" Joshua Bonga Bonga played last season in Pro A (second-tier German professional league) and the NBBL, a German league for players under 20, and 6'4" Troy Jenkins was the second-leading scorer last season at Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, averaging 8.7 PPG.
