He has some real good offensive moves in the low post. Maybe he can teach Heide a thing or two in that area.

I wanted him. He can put the ball in the hole. He will provide some inside scoring. He can play PF and C.
I would love to get another PG.

Lol!! I distinctly remember when I first saw the highlights of this guy here on AztecMesa. My immediate thoughts were: ahh, could we possibly be that lucky that we could land this guy. This young man can play! I am super excited to see him in red and black. Welcome Mr Jared Coleman-Jones - you will feel very welcome here because we really needed you.

Keep up the great work Dutch! Whispers around town: Last night after Butler told Dutch he was portalling out, Dutch, with a wry smile said, "You know Lamont, don't know how we'll get by without you, but we'll start on it tomorrow".

JCJ grew up in Orlando, Florida, born on September 13, 2000, he honed his skills at McEachern High School before stepping onto the collegiate court. A formidable force on both ends, he averaged an impressive triple-double of 13 PPG, 11 RPG, and 10 BPG. JCJ collegiate journey started at Northwestern (Big 10), where they made an immediate impact as a true freshman, playing in every game and contributing 2.9 PPG and 2.1 PPG Then transferred to Middle Tennessee State (CUSA) as a sophomore, they displayed versatility with 2.8 PPG and 2.5 RPG, securing a few starts. The following season presented challenges, as an injury sidelined them for the entirety of 2021-22. However, they returned as a redshirt sophomore, posting a career-high 3.7 PPG and maintaining a steady 2.5 RPG. This year he reached new heights, earning accolades as Third Team All-Conference USA. With an impressive stat line of 11.0 PPG and 7.6 RPG, he proved his worth as a multifaceted player with shooting proficiency and boasting a 44% three-point % and ranking among the conference leaders in free throw % 77% and 1.1 blocks per game. Ziegler released the story, similar rationale to Boyd on why he is coming to SDSU and his expectations on winning. Middle Tennessee transfer Jared Coleman-Jones is equally comfortable in the post or on the perimeter, but can he play Aztec defense? www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/aztecs/story/2024-04-25/san-diego-state-sdsu-aztecs-transfer-portal-jared-coleman-jones-middle-tennessee-center“My biggest thing was looking for a place with winning tradition and winning culture,” said Coleman-Jones, who has one season of eligibility remaining and will pursue a master’s degree in education. “I zoomed with San Diego State, and it sounded really good. And when I got here, I mean, everything matched up. I was not disappointed one bit.”
He flew home Friday to Georgia and announced his commitment via social media.
Coleman-Jones had campus visits scheduled with Georgia Tech, South Carolina, and Louisville, all of which he canceled. Ohio State, Mississippi State, and New Mexico also called in recent days. Too late.
“Coach (Brian Dutcher) has a real vision for the team and for me as an individual,” he said. “All the coaches, everyone, embraced me. It’s a family, winning environment, and that’s what I’m looking for. It doesn’t go much further than that for me. Money is nice, and NIL and all that, but I’m looking for a place I can play basketball and have fun and be in that environment where I can forge a brotherhood."

Now we have two over/unders to consider:
1. How many mentions of the irony of Boyd as the defender against Butler's buzzer-beater in the Final Four? 2. Did you know that Coleman-Jones' brother Darias played football for a season at SDSU?

JCJ is scheduled to graduate by the end of this semester and plans to enter Summer School at SDSU so he can participate in Summer Practices
as for defense there is Coach Dave V and AG that could assist him in his development and not sure how far along Dutcher is in getting an additional assistant coach
