Butler declaring for draft, will retain eligibility

Have you seen his high school highlights? He was named Northern California Player of the Year. He deserves a shot.

And keep an eye on Taj Degourville. Standing at 6'5" and weighing 200 pounds, he's a versatile combo guard who can both pass and shoot. I wouldn't be surprised if he sees playing time as a freshman. We're deep. 

I was going to say the same thing concerning Davis. I saw some very positive things from him this year. I can see that he's a very talented basketball player.

point SHOOTER, was not ATHLECTIC and HE never made HIS teammates better.

However, HE got DRAFTED based on the number of POINTS HE SCORED because HIS teammates sacrificed their GAME for HIM. NBA Players do not give a crap
about their teammates!!

It's sad that the NBA has evolved into a 3 point shooting contest!! College is not too far behind. Red Auerbach and John Wooden are tossing
and turning in their GRAVES because of the way the game is played.

Imagine Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Alcindor/Jabbar, Bill Walton playing in TODAY'S College and NBA? Sure, ALL would dominate the BOARDS
and control the PAINT ON D.

But, I doubt their teammates would PASS the BALL into the LOW POST. All would be forced to SHOOT the 3! Heck, Wilt could barely SHOOT a FREE THROW!

We would have never seen the SKY HOOK; SHAQ would have tried to DUNK the BALL from the 3 point line! This is why the Milwaukee Bucks are
struggling because Brook Lopez really believes HE is a designated 3 point SHOOTER!

May I suggest to ALL PARENTS, UNCLES and GRAND PARENTS that have a Grandson/Granddaughter, TEACH/TRAIN HE or SHE the ART of SHOOTING the BASKETBALL
from the 3 POINT LINE, the LOGO, MID-COURT and the PARKING LOT!!

Lamont is a very good player - a model for current players and future ones that playing defense can be quite rewarding - He has also stood by SDSU even when he was still in HS

My thoughts are that he should do what he needs to do to assist his growth be it the Pros - Portal or return to the Aztecs

what I would ask him to do is make a decision as soon as possible to assist him and SDSU

Right now Dutcher can not recruit as well or hard as he can because possible transfers are going to be told by other schools that Butler is coming back to SDSU even though that decision has not been made

Parrish made his decision and now Butler and Waters have to do the same

Do concur that Davis received little PT in minutes that really count but did see action during practice so trust Dutcher has a good idea if Davis fits into the PT for next season as the back up PG

Do remember DJ Gay did not exactly play a lot of minutes his freshman year but gained PT the following years - hope this might be similar

Analytics have killed the mid-range jumper. It's more statistically beneficial to shoot 33% from three than 45% from mid-range.

When a Team like the Azteca is inefficient at 3's and small down low, the baseline jumper or free throw line jump shot just might be the cure.

Why the Coaching Staff didn't make that
adjustment over the stretch run is a head scratcher.

He has stated he will recruit potential transfers/HS players as if you're not coming back. Doesn't mean he won't take you back if the fit/need is right.

Dutcher has very recently said that once a player puts their name in the Portal he considers them one foot out the door and he wants players who are fully interested in SDSU

So it sure seems that Dutcher has made that quite clear to the guys

He understands that a player might want to get an NBA eval or two but He has a program to run and other schools are already making their moves in the Portal

SDSU is competing with numerous other schools across the country and even in the MW - so Dutcher can not wait for guys to make up their mind about the Portal

Things have drastically changed in the last few years - with the no sit rule for transfers and NIL money

Advantage has swung to the players - so Dutcher has asked the guys to go home during break and make a decision about going into the Portal or staying with SDSU

think it might be considerate of the guys to tell Dutcher what they intend to do - Parrish made his move - so should Lamont and Reese

Butler and Waters could both get evals from the NBA - and many expect that the NBA will suggest that they might gain more from playing an additional season of college ball -

But do think both guys could assist Dutcher and possibly their own possibilities by letting Dutcher know if they prefer to enter the Portal - they have until May 1 to enter it But it would surely help Dutcher and the staff to know what their plans might be - Transfers are not as likely to come visit if they think that the guys will be back

Realize they have to do what is good for them but also have consideration for Dutcher

As an addition has there been any chatter about who Dutcher might select as a new coach for Acker
