Taking a look at those non-conference schedules for the next few years makes me think that the Aztecs are in for some 8 and 9 win seasons, maybe more.

Interesting that they put the game as the last regular season game of the year after all the conference games are done. I guess its a big rivalry weekend and they are to be our rival quite soon.

This is one of the good things coming out of Utah and TCU leaving the conference for perceived greener pastures and BYU having its hissy fit. The problem with the MWC from the perspective of trying to get fans in San Diego to follow it was a basic lack of interest. That lack of interest doesn't mean the Universities are not good schools, don't have good programs, etc. What it is about is that they simply did not represent any identifiable, regional interest or competitive rivalry. Fresno State brings back SDSU's rival and that can only be good over the long haul. Now, if UNLV can step up when you combine that with Nevada/Reno you have more geographical interest. That plus an every other year trip to the islands more than makes up for losing the state of Utah. And, hoping we don't get anything on the rebound from Utah. Welcome back, Fresneck. ;D The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

Fan-farking-tastic. I remember Fresno bringing something like 13 bus loads of fans down here for a game and going home disappointed. We got screwed by the Gang of 5 when they decided to stay at 8 teams thereby taking away our only remaining traditional rival (I didn't count SJSU then and count them even less now).
