Our greatest natural and historical rival. Long live the Fog Bowl. ;D This game is truly legendary. I only wish I had seen it. I would love to read the article from the newspaper the following day.

Well, they certainly were our rival when I was at school. Kept us from a perfect season in '77. =Bob Back in the 70's, when our football team had an 82 - 26 -3 record, we did lose to Fresno State twice, while defeating them eight times and almost universally playing them in October. During the same time frame, we were 5 & 4 against CSU-Long Beach and playing them predominantly in November with half of those games late November. During our previous glory years, Long Beach was our rival. Not a chance. Back in the '60s Fresno was a huge rival. Long Beach was a rival, but Fresno was the game of the year for all the fans that I knew.

I was there with my parents. It was unreal. No one could see what was going on on the field nor could we see the score board. How the announcer managed to tell us what was going on was beyond me. It was the most amazing game I couldn't see! The fog just rolled in in about 5 minutes and we were all just telling each other how amazing it was. And the fact that we beat Fresno made it sooooooo much better. ;D

Wow! I was actually rooting for them to win seeing as how they'll be a MWC team soon enough.

I wonder if the MWC is going to offer an invitation to Northern Illinois now...huge market in Chicago

I guess being beaten by directional Illinois is better than being beaten by Cal Poly two years in a row. Hang in there, Matt

I'm just speaking for myself and how I remember it.
