Pressured, or threatened? That's what needs to be decided. Both are illegal, so, no, not really. Ok.

Both are illegal, so, no, not really. Ok. For the sake of transparency: "You know what they did and you're not reporting it,' Trump said. 'You know, that's a criminal offense. And you know, you can't let that happen. That's a big risk to you and to Ryan [Germany], your lawyer. That's a big risk."

So you don't think our representative republic is in jeopardy when a President refuses to accept the election results and attempts a coup? Really? And you think that after he breaks a boatload of laws he should just get a pass? Wow. Back to the Jan 6th tripe again? The fact that the Capitol Building was so unsecured was an embarrassment to Vodka Nancy and the rest of the politicians who let it happen. If it were Democratic followers the place would have burned to the ground. Allegedly broke. This kind of excessive electoral harassment is an obvious attempt to get Trump out of the Presidential Race and only deepens the political divisions in this nation. Both sides would be best served to save the indictments and impeachment proceedings until after the election. What Trump did as far as questioning the results is no different than what Al Gore or Hillary Clinton did. Did the GOP prosecute those two? Good grief, get help!

Dude - what about the fake electors? The fact that Trump's own people told him that if they went through with these plans they would all end up in prison? They KNEW what they were doing was illegal, and they told him so. What he did in trying to coerce votes in Georgia (on tape) and in trying to get Pence to reject the official ballots for those 7 states and to accept the fake electors was literally a coup attempt. If Pence had tried it the country would have fallen into civil war. If a Democrat did the exact same things that Trump did you would absolutely not only want him imprisoned you'd want him executed for sedition and treason. Fact. The only reason you are defending Trump is because he has the R next to his name and you like him because, "He sticks it to the libs!" In point of fact he is a serial criminal who put himself above the country. The way I heard it was Trump was asking to find illegal votes that would have went to him, not to doctor votes for him. That still may be illegal. We'll find out. "All I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won this state, and flipping the state is a great testament to the country," Trump said. "I only need 11,000 votes. Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Give me a break." "It's just not possible to have lost Georgia. It's not possible," Trump said. Let's break this down: Trump calls Georgia Republican official...why does he do that?...to make a personal appeal...one conservative teammate to another...then he makes a personal request...help a brotha out here...all he wanted was...not to inquire about illegal votes...but a specific number...enough to flip the state to his favor...if the Georgia official...who told Trump over and over again that the vote count is accurate...didn't somehow find the votes...he's letting the country down...now if Trump would've hung up right there...then he probably wouldn't be indicted...but there's more. "The ballots are corrupt, which is totally illegal," Trump said. "It's more illegal for you than it is for them, because you know what they did and you're not reporting it. That's a criminal offense, and you can't let that happen. That's a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer." "So, tell me, Brad, what are we going to do? We won the election, and it's not fair to take it away from us like this. And it's going to be costly, in many ways."
"The only people who like you are people who will never vote for you, you know that, right Brad?" Trump said. www.axios.com/2023/08/15/trump-georgia-election-interference-callTrump threatens the Georgia official's freedom and livelihood...the official who told him there was no corruption...that the vote count is valid...Trump tells him it's a big risk if he doesn't declare the election for him...and it's going to cost the official in many untold ways... Now, those of your ilk play stupid...downplaying the obvious as idle misconstrued chit chat...but it is as it appears...a mob boss thug committing a felonious shake down of an public official...that's why he's in the position he is in today.....

11,780 votes, 1 more than Biden had. I have to laugh, because Meadows promised he would find more than 2 dead people that voted illegally. Actually the voters violating the regs were mostly Republicants. SMH

Such as Trump saying that he only wanted them to find illegal votes, but you squashed that. I'll trust what you're saying, for now. I'm just posting the transcript, it's publicly available. There are no "illegal votes." The courts decided that already. His only defense is presidential immunity, that he was acting within his duties....which is flimsy at best, but it's never been decided in a legal context. You're going to see a lot of people flipping though in the next few months.

The most troubling thing in this process is the blatant and ceaseless attempts at interfering in the investigations by GOP members of Congress. They have threatened to defund the SC fund. They have threatened to investigate prosecutors and are seeking records from ongoing legal cases, of which they have no oversight. It's going to get a whole lot worse. I wouldn't be shocked in the least if they leveraged a government shutdown.
