interesting tactics. You have to figure the Aztecs have some sort of assurances from the PAC that we will be invited.

Now, it's off to the MWC board to see the comments of certain (or, at least one) individuals.

It's times like this I wish you jabronis wouldn't have gotten so mad at the Fresno dude and got our realignment thread shut down by our overlord. Who amongst us doesn't wish we could see the meltdown in real time while simultaneously getting our thread over the 600 page mark

We have been playing games against byu, this will not be held against mwc members in future ooc scheduling . MWC is simply doing what is in their best interest and sdsu is doing what is in our best interest WE have played BYU because that's what Dutcher wanted. We’ve also played them in football. This won’t impact ooc decisions

Then we should be pressuring Pac-12 to officially invite us by end of month. No reason for MWC to help us out by giving a one month extension. Ridiculous to even ask, imo. Cringe-worthy even, now that its out in public. SDSU is in no position to "Pressure" the Pac 12. We are damn lucky all the dominoes have fallen in our favor to get this far, on the doorstep of a Pac 12 invite. The Pac 12 is working on their own time table and will get to SDSU when they can. Do you think there is any valid reason for the MWC to give us a one month extension to save us millions of dollars instead of them?? How long has the Pac-12 been working on this, like a year? They should give us an official invite by end of month, if its totally done or not.

Do we have any leverage here? The reporting is that we’ve also been in discussion with the Big-12. Do we tell the PAC-12 we need an answer by June 29th or will accept and offer from the Big-12 (if that’s even a possibility).

Not sure what else the MWC should do at this point. SDSU signed the contract agreeing to the fee structure. Why wouldn't the league want to hold to the agreement? Ultimately, I am sure something will be negotiated. The fees were raised recently. If that vote was not unanimous and specifically State voted against the increase, then they should fight the increase in court. What would stop the MW from taking a vote today that the exit fee is $100M? Good answer, but not for the question I asked.

As long as this doesn't turn into the Big East fiasco?

I would rather be in the Pac-12, but if they cant get their act together by the end of the month and the Big 12 gives us a similar offer, I would take that one.

If we formally notify the MWC that we are leaving the conference and things somehow fall through, do you really think the MWC would hesitate to take us back?

Everyone on this board who has any connections know we have a standing verbal offer to join the Pac 12. Either people at SDSU are completely clueless or the Pac 12 would have to do some crazy backstabbing. If you want to assume anything other than SDSU has a firm promise that a formal Pac 12 invite is on its way, then you are basically presuming the people at SDSU are liars or those of us connected are liars, or I suppose the Pac 12 presidents/officials are liars. I think the point is that the school is taking a major risk by formally leaving the conference without a written agreement in place with another conference. What happens if the verbal agreement is rescinded for whatever reason, cause that’s possible. We would be screwed and may have to go independent until we could figure out a solution. Relax

My guess is SDSU is asking the MW if they will take a couple of million for 1 month rent in the MWC. It's pretty much guaranteed SDSU has documents from the PAC 12 sitting on the presidents desk, but they can't be formally signed until the PAC has their TV contract ink'd. SDSU is asking the MW for a 1 month "bridge" so everything with the PAC can be finalized. Sort for a 1 month rental extension until the new house is ready. I assume SDSU is hoping for good faith considering the massive stack of MM cash being handed to the MW, but I'm sure the MW will demand something.

I agree with the “we are lucky” to an extent… we also had a vision and executed it… and we will be one of the Top 5 P12 brands in 5 Years… so they are also lucky
