Since the administrators are acting like communist China despite the "customers" wanting this thread we have to keep opening up new ones when new news comes out. Here are a couple of big nuggets that came out today. Why the delay? One of those very same presidents has offered crucial insight. “I think it’s just the environment,” Washington State’s Kirk Schulz said this week. “It’s the uncertainty in the economy, the layoffs in the tech sector and other places. “I know at least one of the partners we were talking to said, ‘We’re ready to sign today, but the optics of us announcing that we’re laying off X number of people and we signed a multimillion-dollar deal with the Pac-12 are just not the best, so we’re going to have to wait six weeks.’ “Clearly, the optics are something those folks are really worried about.” www.mercurynews.com/2023/05/05/hotline-mailbag-media-coverage-of-the-pac-12-and-big-12-espns-role-deadline-for-a-deal-larry-scotts-legacy-and-more/Also Wilner's Hotline Mailbag has some news

And...the clock is ticking as to when THIS thread is locked down.
The clock is also ticking as to when the next thread regarding the PAC is started.

I have a friend high up in intuit and they are beginning layoffs as well. These tech corporations are too top heavy. Its mainly management positions at the moment.

And...the clock is ticking as to when THIS thread is locked down. The clock is also ticking as to when the next thread regarding the PAC is started. Let's hope this thread stays up a while. If the moderators can rise above the tongue in cheek comment regarding Communist China, they've gotten their wish for a discussion of news. I don't know what post(s) set them off, but it's hard to understand why anyone would get so aggrieved as to shut down the forum. Warn or punish the posters who step out of line, but the thread's title acknowledged itself to be speculative. Let the fools er um Fresneckians speculate if they want to, I for one got more than a few chuckles out of the creative responses. Have we become so serious we can't laugh at ourselves?

And...the clock is ticking as to when THIS thread is locked down. The clock is also ticking as to when the next thread regarding the PAC is started. This thread in all it's itenerations is the first, last and most frequent thread I check every day. I would hope the Mods would come to understand there's a reason this realignment is one of, if not the most, popular threads in AM history.
There have been much worse threads, going further off topic, with more personal attacks, and wanderings into political issues that were never locked. If there's a poster who's causing issues then ban that user don't ban all of us from this thread.
I want this thread to continue and am confident that a majority of the active posters on AM also want this thread to continue. Mods, please consider our wants before you shut down this thread again.

Since the administrators are acting like communist China I'm guessing that you haven't spent a lot of time in communist China...

Dennis Dodd interview. What is interesting is he gets that ESPN is out by a comment that an ESPN representative speaking to the Big12 said they were going to be a part of 3 conference partnerships. That is quite the extrapolation to then say ESPN is therefore out of the PAC12.

Good stuff. She says linear is done (sounds like ESPN) and now awaiting streaming which takes a long time because they have never done a streaming deal before (sounds like with Apple). Starts at 7:25.

The way I see it, the biggest announcement in the SDSU athletics department in the history of it could come down and we wouldn't have a thread open for that? I come on here to read what guys like Boise and others who always seem to have good information. I post what I find online on the discussion (both good and bad) although I wouldn't have found Bodkin's interview had it not been for namssa. What she said also confirmed what I heard a few weeks ago, that they are setting precedence with the streaming portion of the contract which means nearly every step has to be reviewed by a bunch of lawyers.

I'm guessing that you haven't spent a lot of time in communist China... It was tongue and cheek. But way to attempt to ruin another thread. To me, rule #1 is, when visiting another team's board, you don't poop on the carpet. And rule #2 is respect the administrator. His board; his rules. (Okay, William's, but you get the point.) I'm not trying to ruin a thread; I'm objecting to others ruinning it. And I'm tired of the refusal of several posters to follow the rules. The minute that even the mildest effort is made to maintain decorum, the whiners... oh, you know the rest....

Optics? Six weeks? Why not four weeks? Why not eight weeks? Why not now? Why not never? This is ridiculous. "Optics? We don't got no optics. We don't need no stinkin' optics!"

Let's keep this thread informative please. Apple TV is infinitely better than the PAC12NW. And, while I'm not big on where they manufacture their products (and not talking about Fresno) they would be a great partner from an academic point of view. Hell, we are lucky to have Qualcomm a partner in the innovation district. And, they have more money than many countries.

Bingo. Shutting down a thread that is the most important event in the history of SDSU athletics on a SDSU board. WTF??

That is quite the extrapolation to then say ESPN is therefore out of the PAC12. Through this expansion/ TV deal mess Dodd has lost all credibility. He’s blatantly shilled for the Big 12 through the entire thing. I don’t believe anything he says any more.
